New iPhone 4S features, Price, Release Date, and everything you need to know!

Today Apple announced a new iPhone, the iPhone 4S at their Let’s Talk iPhone keynote. It does not have a new design, but it has better and improved specs. If you do a lot of gaming on your iPhone, then this will really make a huge difference. According to Apple’s CEO Tim Cooke, the iPhone 4S “screams on games”.

iPhone 4S Features

iPhone 4S will ship with the newest iOS 5 software. It will be available on AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint in the US. Here are the key specs of the iPhone 4S:

Dual-Core A5 chip – Is up to two times more powerful and has up to seven times more powerful graphics.
8 Megapixels Camera with 1080p HD video recording, five-element lens, and face detection
Supports both GSM and CDMA
Siri - A voice assistent that allows you to use your voice to control your phone. With Siri you can make phone calls, send messages, schedule meetings, set reminders, and much more.
HSDPA support
8 Hours of talk time, 14 hours of 2G talk time, 6 hours of 3G browsing, 9 hours of WiFi browsing, 40 hours of music, and 10 hours of video

iPhone 4S Price

The iPhone 4S will be available in black and white. Below are the prices:

$199 for 16 GB iPhone 4S (with 2-year contract)
$299 for 32GB iPhone 4S (with 2-year contract)
$399 for 64GB iPhone 4S (with 2-year contract)

iPhone 4S Release Date

The iPhone 4S will be released to the US, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan and the UK on Friday, October 14. Customers can also pre-order iPhone 4S on October 7. By the end of October, iPhone 4S will roll out to 22 other countries including Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.

Jailbreak Verizon iPhone 4 iOS 4.2.6 with greenpois0n Windows/Mac

Jailbreak iOS 4.2.6 Verizon iPhone 4 Untethered with Greenpois0n Windows/Mac RC Beta 4 Tutorial

1. Download greenpois0n for Click here to download for Windows/Click here to download for Mac, then watch this video or follow the instructions below.

2. Make sure you are using the latest version of iTunes (currently that is version 10.1.2) otherwise you won’t be able to do a 4.2.6 untethered jailbreak. To do that go to iTunes – > Check for Updates.

3. Connect your Verizon iPhone iOS 4.2.6to your computer using the white USB cable.

4. If iTunes opens, make sure you close it!

5. Open the greenpois0n Windows RC 5 Beta 4 application to begin the jailbreak iOS 4.2.1 untethered process.

6. Follow the instructions within greenpois0ns RC 5 Beta 4 so you can get an untethered iOS 4.2.1 jailbreak:

Press and hold the sleep button (2 seconds)
Continue holding sleep; press and hold home button (10 seconds)
Release sleep button; continue holding home button (15 seconds)

7. After following step 6, your device will be in DFU mode and greenpois0n will start jailbreaking iOS 4.2.6 on Verizon iPhone 4.

8. Once your Verizon iPhone 4 is successfully jailbroken untethered on your iOS 4.2.6 software, then your Verizon iPhone will reboot and you will see a green icon named “Loader” on your device.

9. Tap on the green “Loader” application to open it, and then tap on Cydia and tap on “Install” to install Cydia. Now Cydia should be on your iOS 4.2.6 jailbroken untethered device, and you should be able to install jailbroken apps on it.

Troubleshooting

Cydia does not show up on my iOS 4.2.6untethered jailbreak device after using Loader? – Try rebooting your device and seeing if it shows up. I had to restart my iPhone 4 and it showed up after rebooting.
greenpois0n is stuck on greenpois0n initialized and has the following error message:
- unable to find gBdevList
- unable to find fs_mount
- unable to find fs_unmount
- unable to find fs_load_file
greenpois0n RC 5 Beta 4 Quit Unexpectedly – Just relaunch it and try it again!
Loader is not installing Cydia – Due to many other users like you, the server which hosts the Cydia download is overloaded. I recommend trying downloading some other time, or you can just use redsn0w 0.9.6 rc8 and install Cydia through that. It’s very easy to use redsn0w and install it and that’s what other people seem to be doing too right now.

The Verizon iPhone is no big secret. It’s been a product that’s been in the rumor mill for years, and finally after all the waiting it’s going to become a reality. Today January 11, 2011, Verizon is holding an event where they will be announcing details of the Verizon iPhone on their network.

Verizon iPhone Not Coming Soon

A Verizon iPhone phone is like a dream come true for many Verizon Apple fans. Unfortunately it won’t come true any time too soon, despite the rumors the other blogs are spreading claiming to have information from “sources”. At least according to a report on the Sacramento Bee.

Last week, Verizon CEO Ivan Seidenberg spoke to investors at Goldman Sachs conference. Nothing about a Verizon iPhone was said, but the Verizon CEO Ivan Seidenberg did say that he hopes Apple will allow Verizon to sell the phone for a new network it’s building. So there may still be hope for a Verizon iPhone.

Seidenberg told investors that he doesn’t feel like Verizon has an iPhone deficit, but he would love to carry it when Verizon gets there, but first Verizon must earn it. Verizon expects to launch it’s new LTE based network in 25 to 30 cities by the end of 2010, and bring near-nationwide coverage by end of 2012.

Rethink Wireless recently reported that a Verizon iPhone would be coming later this year, but it would launch on Verizon’s CDMA network since the LTE network is not ready. Whether or not this is actually true, we won’t know until June 2011, the month when Apple releases or announces their new iPhone.

Verizon iPhone 4G Release Date May Not Happen

Verizon iPhone 4G Release Date may not happen. Okay, so this contradicts my last Verizon iPhone 4G Release Date Will Come post, so take this one with a grain of salt. According to Droid Life, Verizon recently had a meeting with employees where they announced that they are not interested in having iPhone 4 but instead they are focusing on Android and their Droid line of phones.

It seems the latest Verizon iPhone news always change. I really do expect a Verizon iPhone despite this possible rumor that Droid Life is now spreading. Verizon’s CEO himself expressed interest, and a president of Verizon from the Baltimore-Washington-Virginia region stated that Verizon will get iPhone.

This is the latest Verizon iPhone news. It will probably change soon. As a Verizon customer I’m really hoping for a Verizon iPhone, but if it doesn’t come then I’ll just switch to a Droid or just switch to Sprint and get an HTC EVO 4G.

Verizon iPhone 4G Release Date Will Come

Verizon iPhone 4G Release Date will become a reality! Yes, it’s true, this is no rumor. It’s not a question of whether or not Verizon will get the iPhone on it’s network, it’s just a question of when it will happen. According to a Verizon regional President in the Washington, Baltimore, and Virginia region, a Verizon iPhone is inevitable.

This year many iPhone users were really hoping for a Verizon iPhone, especially because of all the rumors that were spreading around from various analysts including credible sites like the Wall Street Journal. Unfortunately WWDC 2010 came and that didn’t happen. Now this latest bit of news of the Verizon iPhone coming on the Verizon Wireless network will really make Apple fans on Verizon happy.

Sadly, we don’t know any release date for the Verizon iPhone. All that we know is that Apple and AT&T originally signed an agreement with each other until 2012. Whether or not that agreement changed, we don’t know. Anyone here excited like I am about the Verizon iPhone? If iPhone does not come on Verizon would you switch to AT&T or stick to Verizon and get an Android phone instead?

Verizon HTC Droid Incredible: Best Alternative to iPhone 4G/HD or EVO 4G

The HTC Droid Incredible phone by Verizon is selling like hotcakes, but it will soon get competition from HTC EVO 4G and Apple’s upcoming iPhone 4G. If rumors are true,Verizon may be launching a Verizon iPhone. The sales of the Droid Incredible comes as no surprise to me, because this is currently the best Android phone in the market. In my opinion, the Droid Incredible is definitely the best alternative to the iPhone 4G.

According to Verizon Wireless Chief Executive, Lowell McAdam, the Droid Incredible would outsell their Motorola Droid phone if they did not have any shortages. The shortages of the Droid Incredible are partially due to components like the advanced screens made by Samsung Electronics. The Droid Incredible sells so fast, that McAdam says that it sells within hours of shipping in to stores.

Right now having enough Droid Incredible’s in supply is a problem for Verizon. Let’s hope they get this sorted ASAP, because in June they will get competition from HTC EVO 4G and iPhone 4G.

Verizon iPhone in 2012, HTC Evo 4G on Sprint, and Android beating iPhone

Last week a lot happened in the world of mobile phones. First, we learned that 2012 is the year that we could potentially see a Verizon iPhone. AT&T and Apple signed their exclusivity contract for 5 years, so Apple can’t offer the iPhone on any other carrier until 2012. If you were expecting there to be a Verizon iPhone launch this year, you’ll find yourself pretty disappointed.

The HTC Evo 4G phone is coming to Sprint this summer, most likely in June. Sprint held a contest where 10 lucky winners will be getting their HTC Evo 4G before launch date. The HTC Evo 4G has some great specs which include a 8.0 mega-pixel camera on the back and a 1.3 mega-pixel front facing camera.

We also learned through a research done by NPD, that Google’s Android operating system outsold Apple’s iPhone operating system in the first quarter of 2010. To be fair though, Google has been offering multiple Android phones on all the major carriers while Apple has been just restricting their iPhone to a single carrier, AT&T.

Verizon iPhone 4G not coming, instead buy HTC Droid Incredible

Apple and Verizon Wireless fans pining for a Verizon iPhone in 2010 won’t be getting one. Apple and AT&T both have a 5-year exclusive agreement.

Many users were hoping to see Apple launch their new iPhone on Verizon this year, but sorry to disappoint you all it’s not going to happen. In 2007, Apple and AT&T both signed an agreement that allows only AT&T to be the carrier that can offer Apple’s iPhone. This agreement ends in 5 years from 2007, which means that no carrier other than AT&T can offer the iPhone until 2012. During World Wide Developers Conference, we won’t see a Verizon iPhone.

If you are on Verizon Wireless and won’t be switching to HTC, the HTC Droid Incredible is the next best smartphone out there. In my opinion this is the best Android phone to date, and it’s also the best phone available on Verizon Wireless. Sprint users can get the HTC Evo 4G in June, as that will be the next best Android phone. T-Mobile users should get the Nexus One from Google instead.
