BlackBerry Bold 9700 White Available on Rogers Now

The BlackBerry Bold 9700 white model is now available on Rogers. Both Best Buy and Future Shop have the Black Berry Bold 9700.

You can buy the BlackBerry Bold 9700 white model for $549.99 from Best Buy without contract or $149.99 with a 3-year contract. As of this writing, the Rogers website does not have the BlackBerry Bold 700 white model up on their site.

Specs of the BlackBerry 9700 white mode include BlackBerry OS, full QWERTY keyboard, 256 MB RAM, MicroSD slot, 480 x 360 resolution, and up to 6 hours talk time.

Blackberry Bold 9650: Release date, price, and specs

The picture above is the BlackBerry Bold 9650 phone that RIM revealed today. The BlackBerry Bold 9650 specs include a BlackBerry OS 5.0 operating system, 3.2 Megapixels camera with auto focus, 480 x 360 screen reslution, 512 MB Flash memory, and microSD support up to 32 GB, and OpenGL. Networks supported on the BlackBerry Bold 9650 include CDMA/EVDO Rev A networks in North America and UMTS/HSPA and GSM/GPRS/EDGE networks.

The BlackBerry Bold 9650 release date is May 23, and it will be launching on Sprint. No pricing has been officially announced yet.

BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) caused the outage yesterday

Research in Motion (RIM) has made a blog post about the BlackBerry outage that occurred yesterday. They are saying that a flaw in BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) versions 5.0.0.55 and 5.0.0.56 caused database issues within the BlackBerry instructure. They have also apologized for the inconvenience caused to lots of BlackBerry users yesterday.

RIM has also released BlackBerry Messenger version 5.0.0.57. If you are a BlackBerry user, it is recommended that you update to the latest version. You can download the BlackBerry messenger by going to http://www.blackberry.com/blackberrymessenger.

The BlackBerry outage that I recently posted about isn’t only affecting the United States, but it is also affecting Canada and South America. E-mail is down for everyone, but users are also reporting that their Internet and BlackBerry messenger services are all down. This is not the first time this has happened, there was a BlackBerry outage on December 17 as well .

A spokesman from RIM says that they are working on fixing the problem but they have no estimates as to when it will be fixed. An AT&T rep has told us that they estimate it will take 6-8 hours for it to get fixed.

It is frustrating that RIM has not provided any details as to what is going on. Neither their Twitter account, or Facebook account has any updates. They never gave an explanation of what caused the outage last time, and I don’t think they will this time either. BlackBerry users will just need to wait until RIM fixes whatever problems they’re having.

Today is a bad day for both Research In Motion (RIM) and BlackBerry users. BlackBerry users around the world are reporting that BlackBerry Messenger (BBM), e-mail, and Internet are all down and have been down for many hours. This is not the first time this has happened., it happened last week on December 17 as well. None of the carriers are responsible for this outage, RIM is.

A spokesperson from RIM says that they are working on fixing this problem, but there is no estimate as to when it will get fixed. BlackBerry users are getting really frustrated and venting their thoughts on social networking sites.

BlackBerry Storm 2 Types Faster than the iPhone!

Although Research In Motion (RIM) has not announced the new BlackBerry Storm 2 yet, there have been BlackBerry Storm 2 9550 and 9520′s caught in the wild.

A video created by Alejandro shows just how fast typing is on the BlackBerry Storm 2 using RIM’s SureType technology. Check out the video below. This type of technology really puts the iPhone’s virtual keyboard to shame. Will Apple ever be able to compete with RIM’s SureType technology? I hope so! They only have virtual keyboards on their iPhones/iPod Touches while RIM has both physical keyboard and virtual keyboard. Oh, and the creator of this video says that you can’t turn off that annoying typing sound yet but RIM will most likely give you the option once it’s actually out.

BlackBerry 9700 T-Mobile Spotted

Kevin Michaluk from CrackBerry.com was lucky enough to spot a 3G Black Berry 9700 T-Mobile smartphone in the wild. This BlackBerry 9700 model has a silver chrome color instead of the rumored charcoal color. AT&T probably gets the Charcoal color while T-Mobile gets the silver chrome color. Instead of a trackball this model has a trackpad.

AT&T users: Don’t worry, your GSM BlackBerry 9700 is rumored to be launched soon too.

BlackBerry 9700 Specs and Details

Rumors of a new BlackBerry model, the BlackBerry 9700 have been spreading around the web. According to a reliable source that tipped Boy Genius Report, RIM will be releasing the BlackBerry 9700 soon. The only details we have about this BlackBerry 9700 are rumors, but Boy Genius Report is known to have reliable tipsters so I’ll go ahead and post them here.

BlackBerry 9700 Carriers

Today Boy Genius Report got a picture from a tipster which shows them a pre-launch list for AT&T. The BlackBerry 9700 appeared in that list along with other smartphones like the Garmin Nuvifone G60, HTC Tilt 2, and the HTC Pure/HTC Snap.
