HTC EVO 4G Update Removes 30FPS Cap, and Fixes GPS Reboot, Multiple Gmail Account Sync, and Calendar Event Edit Issue

HTC EVO 4G users recently got an update from HTC which removes the 30FPS cap, fixes GPS reboot, fixes multiple Gmail Account syncing bug, and also fixes the Calendar Event edit bug. If you are an HTC EVO 4G user, you should definitely update to this latest version. The version # is HTC – EVO 4G (A9292) – 3.29.651.5.

The biggest fix in the HTC EVO 4G update was, no doubt, the 30FPS cap removal. Now that the HTC EVO 4G has no FPS cap limit, it’s more responsive, and everything runs much more smoother. Don’t take my word for it, watch the YouTube video here to see the difference.

If you didn’t get the OTA update for your HTC EVO 4G phone yet, you can manually download it from HTC’s server here. After downloading, rename the file to update.zip and save it to your microSD card. Reboot your HTC Evo 4G in to recovery mode. Turn your phone off, hold the volume down button and press the power button. Once the white screen boots up, use the volume button to select RECOVERY and press the power button again. The EVO will now boot in to recovery mode. Hold the volume up button and press the power button and then choose applysdcard:update.zip. Once it’s all done, you can head on over to Android Central and thank them for this.

HTC EVO 4G Will Get New Android 2.2 Froyo Update

HTC EVO 4G is going to get the new Android 2.2 Froyo Update soon. This news comes from a Tweet from the official Sprint Twitter account. A Sprint representative officially stated “HTC EVO will be updated to Android 2.2″. No release date has been announced for Android 2.2 Froyo for the HTC EVO 4G.

The HTC EVO 4G is not the only device to get Android 2.2 on Sprint. Sprint also stated that from now on, new devices launching with Android 2.1 in the future will also get the Android 2.2 Froyo update.

Unfortunately Samsung Moment and HTC Hero won’t get the Android 2.2 Froyo update. If you are an HTC EVO 4G user, the Android 2.2 Froyo update will make you like your phone a lot more. This update will make your HTC EVO 4G 2 to 5 times faster and add many new cool features you can see in detail here.

HTC Aria Coming to AT&T On June 20

HTC Aria is AT&T’s latest Android phone that is launching on June 20. The HTC Aria is powered by Android 2.1 and includes HTC’s custom Sense UI.

The HTC Aria phone is 3.2 inches, has a capacitive touch screen, 5.0 mega-pixels camera, up to 6 hours talk time, and 115g weight. The price of the HTC Aria is $129.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate and a two-year agreement with AT&T.

It seems like AT&T does not want to launch an Android phone more powerful than the iPhone 4, because their previous phone, the Motorola Backflip didn’t have really good specs. An article on Mashable says that AT&T may not want to release a powerful Android phone because it could ruin their relationship with Apple.

Sprint HTC EVO 4G Is Very Scratch Resistant

The Sprint HTC EVO 4G is the first US 4G phone launched in the US. Sprint’s CEO believes that the EVO 4G can take on the Apple iPhone 4 phone that will be released on June 24. Every year Sprint looses a lot of customers to AT&T whenever there is a new launch, but with the HTC EVO 4G they expect this will change.

The HTC EVO 4G is scratch resistant, as you will see in the following video after the break. A HTC EVO 4G owner had to return his phone to Sprint to get it replaced, but before returning it he did a scratch test. The results were good, the HTC EVO 4G was able to handle all the scratch. This means users won’t need to buy a protective screen for their HTC EVO 4G.

HTC EVO 4G Packaging Gets Unveiled

HTC EVO 4G phone packaging was recently unveiled by the folks over at Android Central. The HTC EVO 4G, will be coming to Sprint on June 4. It’s good to know that Sprint has decided to use an environmental friendly package, and has used recycled paper to build it. All we do with the packaging is throw it away anyway, all that matters is what’s inside it, the HTC EVO 4G.

We already know that the HTC EVO 4G has a 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 8.0 mega-pixel back camera, and 1.3 mega-pixel front camera. What we did not know is how much memory is in there. The packaging has revealed that there will be a 8 GB microSD card in the HTC EVO 4G.

HTC EVO 4G – HTC EVO 4G Has No Adobe Flash Player 10.1 Support Until Android 2.2

HTC EVO 4G does not have Adobe Flash Player 10.1 support, and it won’t get it until the Android 2.2 update is released by Google. This does not mean that you can’t view Flash content, you will still be able to view Flash with the included Flash Player lite software but it will be buggy and not as good as Flash Player 10.1.

The HTC EVO 4G will be released on June 4. Unlike the iPhone, Google has taken a positive approach towards cooperating with Adobe and integrating Flash Player in their Android operating system. Right now Flash Player 10.1 is still in beta, and it is expected to be released for Android, Palm Pre, and other devices this year.

Specs of the HTC EVO 4G include a 8.0 mega-pixel camera on the back, and a 1.3 mega-pixel camera on the front for video chat (via Qik), and a 4.3-inch screen. Thanks to the 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, there is a lot of power in the HTC EVO 4G.

Verizon HTC Droid Incredible: Best Alternative to iPhone 4G/HD or EVO 4G

The HTC Droid Incredible phone by Verizon is selling like hotcakes, but it will soon get competition from HTC EVO 4G and Apple’s upcoming iPhone 4G. If rumors are true,Verizon may be launching a Verizon iPhone. The sales of the Droid Incredible comes as no surprise to me, because this is currently the best Android phone in the market. In my opinion, the Droid Incredible is definitely the best alternative to the iPhone 4G.

According to Verizon Wireless Chief Executive, Lowell McAdam, the Droid Incredible would outsell their Motorola Droid phone if they did not have any shortages. The shortages of the Droid Incredible are partially due to components like the advanced screens made by Samsung Electronics. The Droid Incredible sells so fast, that McAdam says that it sells within hours of shipping in to stores.

Right now having enough Droid Incredible’s in supply is a problem for Verizon. Let’s hope they get this sorted ASAP, because in June they will get competition from HTC EVO 4G and iPhone 4G.
