Sprint to Offer Unlimited Data on iPhone 5

The Wall Street Journal had already told us that Sprint will have the iPhone 5 some weeks ago. Now Bloomberg has added on to this rumor, and said that Sprint will be offering an unlimited data plan on the iPhone 5 on their network in mid-October.

Rumors on the Sprint iPhone 5 keep spreading like crazy. Just last week some “source” tipped off This is my next, and said Best Buy will have an “Apple Fixture” on Friday, October 21 2011. This is how Best Buy did it during the iPhone 4 launch as well, so that “Apple Fixture” could mean that the Sprint iPhone 5 release date will be on that day.

They’ve reduced the price of the HP TouchPad with webOS software from $399 to as low as $99 for the 16GB version and from $499 to $149 for the 32 GB version. It’s sold out in some stores already, and we are tracking online stores that are selling it on this page. We will be monitoring and updating it in real time. HTC EVO 4G will be available in Best Buy, without MIR

Sprint recently announced June 4 as the release date of the HTC EVO 4G. The price was $199.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate and 2-year contract. If you are the type of person that does not like to fill in mail-in rebate, and want to avoid the hassle, then I suggest you pre-order your HTC EVO 4G from Best Buy. Best Buy provides an instant rebate on the HTC EVO 4G.

The HTC EVO 4G phone is Sprint’s replacement for the Nexus One phone that they planned on offering earlier. It is a much better phone with better hardware and specs as well.

There is a 8.0 mega-pixel camera on the back, 1.3 mega-pixel camera on the front, Android 2.1 operating system, and Adobe Flash Player support on the HTC EVO 4G.

Best Buy is the best place to get the HTC Droid Incredible. Tomorrow, April 29 is the day the HTC Droid Incredible is officially being released on Verizon. The price of the HTC Droid is $199 AFTER a $100 mail-in rebate and a 2-year contract. You can get the phone for just $199 with 2-year contract, but without having to do a mail-in rebate if you buy it at your local Best Buy store.

Best Buy is famous for giving instant discounts on smartphones in general rather than having customers go through the hassle of doing a mail-in rebate themselves.

Android fans, question for you, are you getting the HTC Droid Incredible on Verizon or will you get the HTC Evo 4G on Sprint instead?

Best Buy is currently promoting Sprint and HTC’s HTC Evo 4G smartphone on their website. It has listed the HTC Evo 4G Specs below:

iPad 3G coming to Best Buy on April 30, and HP Slate release date

The iPad 3G hardware with iPhone 3.2 software is purportedly coming to Best Buy on April 30. It will also be available in Apple Stores after 5 PM on this day. This news comes from a 9to5mac reader who got a reply from Steve Jobs via email that said ”YEP” in answer to his question about the iPad 3G launching on April 30 in Best Buy.

The HP Slate release date is in June, according to many reports on the web. If you didn’t get an iPad yet, don’t! Wait for HP Slate to come out and then decide which one you want to buy. The main thing is that the HP Slate has a webcam on front, and a camera on the back, SD Card slot, and it runs on the Windows 7 operating system. The price point of the HP Slate may also be better than the iPad. Plus you can install whatever app you want on the HP Slate, but on the iPad you have to buy from the App Store and you can easily end up spending too much. The HP Slate seems like the best device for productivity, and entertainment purposes, and video chatting or video blogging.

‘Professional’ thieves steal $26,000 of MacBooks from NJ Best Buy

On Wednesday morning an unknown number of thieves managed to break in to a Best Buy in South Brunswick, New Jersey and steal 20 notebooks valued at $26,000. For the record, these were all MacBooks so no Windows computers were stolen (phew!). These thieves were clever because they were able to avoid cameras, motion sensors, and alarms.

Police believe the thieves broke in to the Best Buy by cutting a hole through the roof using a saw, and slicing a 3-foot wide square in the metal roof. Detective James Ryan said that there was a “high level of sophistication” involved in this robbery since the thieves didn’t set off any alarms or motion detectors, and were also able to avoid cameras. John Harris, a security expert said “I would say they were a professional crew”, and “At least I’ve never dealt with anything like this. From time to time, people break in, but not usually through the roof.” Police are still investigating, and they think that at least 2 or 3 people were involved in this roberry and they may have hit other locations before as well. Anyone with additional information on this incident should call Penney at (732) 329-4646.

Best Buy Black Friday Eid Al Adha ad causes disappointment to many

In Best Buy’s Black Friday ad, they included a Happy Eid al-Adha message to recognize the holiday that Muslims around the world will be celebrating this week. For Muslims, Eid is like Christmas and this year it happens to be in the same week as Black Friday and Thanksgiving. Surprisingly, it looks like this ad has caused disappointment among many Best Buy customers.

A topic on the Best Buy forums is full of 10 pages where customers are complaining about Best Buy wishing Muslims a happy Eid. As I was reading the topic I noticed that many people were saying that they will no longer shop at Best Buy, some were saying that Best Buy should have put something about Christmas, and some said that they were shocked. Due to the complaints by a lot of people, a Best Buy supervisor, Elizabeth had to post the following response:

Thanks for sharing your point of view regarding our recent ad, which included a wish for a “Happy Eid al-Adha”.

Best Buy’s customers and employees around the world represent a variety of faiths and denominations. We respect that diversity and choose to greet our customers and employees in ways that reflect their traditions.

We do use the word “holiday” in some of our advertising because it is meant to be inclusive to everyone. However, just as we have in the past, we will also reference specific holidays such as Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa in our weekly ads, store signage and other advertising vehicles.

We encourage our employees to interact with customers naturally and feel free to wish them a Merry Christmas if they are celebrating that holiday. Thanks again for your feedback.

I really don’t see anything wrong with Best Buy adding a “Happy Eid Al-Adha” text in their ad. It just proves that Best Buy appreciates diversity. It is unfortunate that people are taking other meanings from this ad. What are your thoughts on this?
