I tried to jailbreak my iPhone 3G using the linked QuickPwn 2.2.1 on WindowsXP and it just would not work. On the screen that said, "Wait for your iPhone to connect in Recovery Mode..." , it never made it to the next step. It just left that top line in bold forever. It did make my iPhone do a couple things and then showed the picture of the USB cable with arrow pointing to iTunes, but it never moved to the next step where I was supposed to hold the home button down. After a while I just tried the next steps since the program was moving nowhere, but it didn't accomplish anything. Eventually I reset the phone and tried it all again, but same result.

I am using an iphone 3g 16gb with firmware 2.2.1. I bought the iphone unlocked (it can take sim from any provider ).I am wondering if jailbraking will lock my phone and then can't use it with my service provider.
Thank you |
