    The pwn it.
thats how it worked for me and if i knew not to let iTunes know what sim i was using at first it would've been done in about 2 1/2 hours less time than it originally took me.
and im sure it would help several others too.

if you do add this info, i dont feel any need of credit to the guide, but it would be appreciated.
you dont need to insert any sim card..it wont take any longer i have unlocked many 2g phones after restoring all i do is close itunes and let quickpwn do the rest all this process is done in less than 10 - 15 minutes

    Default Invalid SIM

    Info :
Carrier: AT&T phone (where I got it from)
    3G 8 Gig iPhone
    Version : 2.2

I jail-broke the phone correctly because the new apps were added (cynida and installer) : please let me know if this is wrong

Installed the newest version of Yell0wsnow through cynida

I shut the phone off and inserted a SIM card from Italy VodaPhone which is locked and it recognized the fact it was locked.. I put in the corresponding pin it took the PIN and I get 1 bar for a while then it quickly says "No Service" if I try what other users have said had worked for them (airplane mode on and off) then I get and Invalid SIM card warning that does not go away even after a good while (hour)

Any suggestions or did I not do something right despite the fact that it all was loaded just as it was described in all of the things on this forum?

    Default Question

once done with that close cydia and put your sim card in..after puttin it in give it 20 seconds if it doesnt find service reboot then phone and you try it over again if it doesnt find service remove sim and put it in again and wait for 30 seconds more..at this point your sim should be detected

I can find nowhere that tells me to remove my sim card. Did I miss a step??

it doesnt tell u to remove your simcard..if you dont find service after updating yellowsnow on 2.2 THEN you remove your sim and insert again..repeat this step and let the sim be in the phone for atleast a minute..eventually you will find service

I had the problem when opening QuickPwn "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135). Click on OK to terminate the application."

How do I resolve this problem?

I have already updated my Iphone 2G to FW 2.2.1. Right now, it is in emergency mode. I have it connect to my iTunes.

yes but when after you restore it on itunes thats all that you should let it do. i went through the process of letting itunes check my sim and such. i didnt know not to do that.
    lol
and no, i guess you dont have to insert a sim, but i was just mentioning how i did it.

go to the downloads section of this website and download the firmware 2.2.1 for iphone NOT 3g and then save it to your desktop when quickpwn asks you for your firmware direct it to the file you downloaded..also download bootloaders if you already havent you will need those to unlock your phone
