Hello my name is abrar,

This is ma first day in this forums. Well let me tell ya ma problem. My dad has got me an iphone 2g from USA, i currently live in India. Ma dad has already got the iphone unlocked in USA and have installed some applications in it. My firmware is 1.1.4.. i wanna update my Firmware, but i dont know the exact procedure.. and i am afraid of trying different things.. i dont even know how to add the applications.. or where to download the applications from.. i would really very thankful to those who would help me in this procedure.. if anyone could explain me how to update it.. and which software to download.. i am very poor at these things.. so please if anyone can help me out.. i would be really thankful.. thanks in advance.

hey i am trying to unlock my Friends 3G while following the steps u put down ... and wen the ipod was restoring to the file you said .. i got an error message telling me my phone cannot be retored... the phone was not updated i made sure of that ... now itunes says the iphome plugged in gotta berestored .. i went to press it again and inotoced that now it says the phone is up to date and it will check for updates bla bla ... b4 i tried to restore it, it said the phone needed to be updated ... so did i make a mistake?? is it too late to unlock it?

hi, my education is very poor so not very good at reading but from what i understand you say that a 3g iphone cannot be unlocked if it has 2.2.1 or later, is this an old thread as i have a 3g with 3.0.1 and i have just unlocked it useing redsnow.
