Firmware bundles, Im having troubles :), Posted 05-29-2009, 08:27 PM #1 (permalink)
Alrighty, thanks for clicking on my thread!
Now here are my sad troubles =(
I have in fact succesfully downloaded all the needed software to perform the "Jailbreak"
And it all seems to be fine.
Except the firmware bundles! =D
Well i dont know if their is in fact anything wrong with them, or if i may just be stupid...
Which i would not doubt.
But here is what i am having troubles with.
I get to the second step, after i plug my ipod in.
(im using a 2G Ipod touch)
Where you choose the firmware bundle you need!
I succesfually found the folder starting with _2.2.1
but here is where i am gettting very frustrated.
The folder is EMPTY.
So i have no way of using the firmware i need...
And i am a person who likes to get things done FAST.
So i am going insane trying to get this thing to work.
I attempted Quick freedom, about 5 times.
And it didn't work...
So i turned to QuickPwn
Now im having troubles...
So I would TRULEY appreciate it, if you could help me out

I promise in the near future i will reward you, in some way.
If i can find a way...

But please, be kind, and help out this retarted kid, named Aleks... which is in fact me.

Thanks a bunch, if you can help out.

Are you using PC or MAC? If PC - are you using XP or Vista?

Is the firmware file you downloaded a "zip" file type? I saw in another post - that person changed the "zip" extension to "ipsw" extension and said that it worked. I tried that on one of the zip files I downloaded and it did change it to the ipsw extension. The real key is - does the file work! That I don't know yet - but I am going back to ask if it was successful.

Okay the best solutions is to download the firmware off the net just google the firmware and you should see all kinds of links for your firmware. Next download it to you desktop. Hit shift on your keyboard and click restore in Itunes at the same time. This will let you choose the location of the firmware that you are trying to restore to. Point it towards the location that you downloaded the firmware to. Then follow the instructions on the screen. Then run QuickPWN again, the phone must be restored to the condition it was when it came out of the box. If you are using a MAC then you should using Pawnage not QuickPWN because QuickPWN is for Windows.
