how to jailbreak and unlock iphone 3.0.1?

what are the exact steps that i should take to jailbreak and unlock iphone 3.0.1?

1- update to 3.0.1 via itunes
2- download redsnow
3- jailbrek AND unlock with redsnow.

is that all the steps i should talk so my iphone is ready to work again?
and would updatin it will delete all my stuff in the iphone?

for 3 u dont need to unlock if u have att
and on 3 when u use redsnow to jailbreak, and it asks for the ispw or whatever the file is show it the 3.0 one not the 3.0.1 u use to update, this wont mess up ur phone, its just it doesnt know about 3.0.1 yet cause it was made before then.

it will delet themes and stuff u added with cydia, ur apps from app store or cracked apps and music, contacts, photos ect. will stay, if u update, dont do restore, that will remove that stuff and take forever to put back on.
