iPhone OS 3.0 killing battery
I just upgraded to iPhone OS 3.0 (2G), and after I updated it, i noticed that my battery life literally started to change in front of my face. My once 6 hour battery life, just turned into a 1 hour battery life. Could the OS be using processes that are taking my battery time away?
p.s.: I've turned off: Bluetooth, SSH, WiFi, and Edge. Literally everything is turned off and the phone is just sitting there, and it dies. I've never had a battery problem before I upgraded. Ideas?

Same here. Even with all the battery draining functions off, I still get miserable battery performance. Yesterday it completely drained overnight. And today it's been plugged for a good portion of the day and i'm now at 38%. I have NEVER seen such low battery percentage with OS 2.x. I suspect it's one of the apps I got from Cydia not fully compatible with OS3. Anyone knows a way to monitor process CPU loads on OS3?
Thanks,
PS: There is a thread in this forum dated 4-19 talks about the same problem with OS3 beta.

I have the same problem Mojo, and I'm not jailbroken yet on 3.0 so I don't think it's a Cydia thing.
Man I should have NEVER upgraded!

Must just increase on the 3G, not the 2G

ok, so then, apparently the 2G iPhone is having some sort of bug that is drainging battery life. Last night, I held my iPhone to my ear, and I could hear the phone clicking and stuff, as if it were working on something. I kind of regret upgrading now...

well there is only one reason for that is to make the Iphone 3G users believe their phones are dying and they should buy a new one which will take them either to buy the phones that are remaining in the stocks or the new 3GS who knows it might be their objective to make the phones unusable anymore..... well hopethey will fix it in next firmware...
