Default OS X vs Windows question...

I am told that if I restore an iPhone on OS X the iPhone will not be able to sync with a Windows computer. Sounds silly to me, but I don't know for sure.

My friend has a Mac and I want to try and jailbreak with the released Pwnage Tools but I want to avoid complications.

Anybody know if there is truth to this?

You made me laugh, no this won't effect the iPhone. I got an WinXP Computer and MacBook. NOTHING wrong! Both OS can pickup the iPhones signal and send/recive items.

From experiences with legacy Ipods, if you connected initially on either mac or win, the pod was formatted for use on that OS platform, thus if you took it too the opposite OS platform, it would let you know that the Pod needed to be reformatted for use on the opposite OS platform. I tried it once. Not fully sure if there using the same constraints here or not. I have only connected my iPhone to my Mac however i have connected it to a XP box here at work and it was recognized and a window was displayed asking me if I wanted to import pics and such. I presume the the iPhones are not dependent upon either platform once initialized. I do all my syncing and JB'g on the mac. I kinda keep the idea of maintaining the iPhone and syncing to one OS platform to keep it simple. KISS!

FWIW, on my 30GB iPod Video, it will not play songs or sync with iTunes on a Windows machine. It is formatted for my Mac at home, and I tried several times to take it to work and sync with the PC there. I am not sure if an iPhone is the same or not, but I would imagine it would be. Good question, though.

Apple designes all ipods and the iphone(not actually sure about iphone, haven't tried to use it in my old g4), so it can only sync with PC OR Mac, not both, to get it to sync with your PC, you need to restore to factory settings, but then it won't read in your mac.
