2G - 3.0 beta 5 - how to activate?

can some one just give simple step by step instructions as to going about upgrading to beta 3.0 5, on a 2g iphone, and still be able to have it unlocked for tmobile with service??

If you are really interested to upgrade to OS Beta 5 then follow this:

1 - Download OS 3.0 Beta 5 (7A312G) + iTunes Pre Release 8.2.0.10

2 - Install iTunes 8.2.0.10

3 - Open iTunes ... to restore - connect your iPhone to the PC then press Home Key + Power Switch until the white logo of Apple comes out then release power switch and keep holding on Home Button until the DFU mode (Recovery) comes out then release home button ..

3 - Then iTunes will pop up message 'iTunes has detected that your iPhone is on Recovery Mode) click OK .. then click RESTORE search for the IPSW (OS 3.0 Beta 5 - 7A312G) ... thats it ... good luck ...

if the method doesn't work?! Try this:

RESTORE to 2.2.1

1. DFU mode by open the iTunes, connect the iPhone, hold the HOME button and POWER button together, it will turn off then release the power button and keep holding the HOME button then iTunes will detect it.

2. Restore to 2.2.1

3. use QUICKPWN 2, check jailbreak, activate and unlock


UPDATE to 3 b5 (don't restore, it will be lock again if restore)

3. open itunes, just update

4. open QUICKPWN 3 beta 5, check cydia and activate

5. You're done, install openssh from cydia

6. To use the crack app, you need to SSH ********_30b5 file
