Ok this is what i did i wanted to get 3.0 beta 2 on my iphone 2g with 2.2.1 firmware unlocked for t-mobile. so i just went to itunes and restored to 3.0 beta 2 after that i got a purple screen with itunes plug and i couldnt figure out what i did wrong. so i downgraded back to 2.2.1 and jailbroke and unlocked but now i have no service with tmobile... with my understanding i think i messed up the basebands ?? is that correct help me out here thanks... i would either like to know how i can upgrade to 3.0 beta2 from here or downgrade to 2.2.1

O.k. to downgrade. Make your iphone go into recovery mode(turn off iphone then hold home while holding home connect in usb keep holding home until a recovery sign pops up and then itunes will open.)Then Shift+click on restore and find the 2.2.1 firmware and click it. iTunes will then restore to 2.2.1. But you will still have no service. So you will need to download the unofficle quick pwn 2.2.1 jailbreak(Do not do the officle one there is something wrong with it.) Then Jailbreak your iphone then you do not restore from back up set up as a new ipod. Then you can choose to sync now or later. Then next thing you will need to do is connect to wi-fi. Then open cydia and download yellowsn0w and when yellowsn0w is done you will have service will t-mobile. Then you can sync if you havn't already.

Now to upgrade to 3.0 firmware. You need to go into recovery mode(as i explained at the top). iTunes will pop up shift+click on restore then find your 3.0 firmware open that and iTunes will restore to the 3.0. Then after that's done do to quickpwn.com and of there home page there will be a download for quickpwn 3.0. You will NOT beable to sync with iTunes if you do not have an devolper account unless you disconnec from wi-fi on your computer. But anyways after you have donwloaded the quickpwn then close iTunes. Open quickpwn and click activate and jailbreak(you can replace boot logos if you want.) After done jailbreak open iTunes and you can be connected to internet now. You can sync. Now can you get yellowsn0w through ICY? I don't know. If you go into ICY(the other downloader type thing thats like cydia) and go to sources and make sure your connected to the internet and hit edit and the + button and hit add all then click done and refresh the sources. After they are done refreshing then go to catagories and in catagories click the maginifingy glass in the top right corner. Then search for yellowsn0w. If it's there then download it and if you have to respring or reboot for it then it will be hard. If you can get it to reboot(which normally you can't you will just have to make it go into recovery mode) Then it will unlock. BUT if you are using t-mobile there have been sayings that when you unlock on 3.0 t-mobile doesn't work. But i don't know. I would give it a shot if you really want to. This took me like an hour to right so you better be happy with it! Haha.

so your saying that yellowsnow can be used on iphone 2g and it will fix the baseband because now i have 04.04.05_G and i think that is the issue im not sure tho.. i will try what you said tho..thank you for your time

never mind this whole time i have been trying to figure this out it was the sim card.. which is weird cuz it worked before but for some reason is there anyway that one of the unlocks or downgrades or any flash could have ruined the sim card?
