Hi, a Friend has an iphone 3G and had 3.01 on it. he used redsn0w to jail break it. but it has a T-mobile sim card in it. he doesn't have the orginal AT&T sim card, it's saying invailed sim card. how does he jailbreak, and unlock his iPhone 3G with 3.01?

take the sim out, so it just says no sim, then jailbreak, if already done that should be fine. now go into cydia and install ultrasnow, and that should unlock it

In addition to the info already provided, for T-Mobile - disable 3G before installing Ultrasn0w. To add Ultrasn0w add repo666.ultrasnow.com to SOURCES in Cydia and then install Ultrasn0w.
