I have turned off Push email and it seems to have helped. I'll know better by the end of the day.

UPDATE:

I downgraded my iphone back to 2.2.1, and battery life has restored back to it's original condition. I even have wifi, and everything on, and it is still full power after an hour of usage! I don't know why 3.0 used so much battery, but it did. Although, I jailbroke my 3.0, so that's probably the problem.... better wait for quickpwn to know for sure.

Well, that's the only thing I can think of because the only people that are having this problem are the people who unlocked/jailbroken. I believe it was mojo who suggested that it had something to do with the iPhone having a constant struggle to connect to the GPRS network:
"I suspect that the issue is related to the iPhone insisting on attaching to the GPRS network... "

I can confirm that turning off Push Email for Exchange completely solves the problem, for me at least. The Apple official support forum is full of reports of the issue (I cannot link to it here 'cos i have less than 15 posts), but they all report the same symptoms (overheating, constant GPRS interference, etc), and disabling Push Emails works for many. Others suggested configuring the iPhone with a blank APN if you have no data plan. Point Safari to this site: unlockit.co.nz and it will help you autoconfigure APN settings.

I think it's really important that people list their iPhone model (i.e. 2G or 3G). As from what I'm reading, I think the drain is happening on 2G models!?!?

okay i put my iPhone 2g on 3.0(unlocked only on t-mobile/no cydia jailbreak) fully charged it (it took about 5 hrs to fully charge) then didn't do much on it besides facebook for about 30 minutes...the battery last about 2 days. also had everything off(wifi/bluetooth/push notifications via e-mail/aim/etc) is this normal? for any other users...hmm i bought this iPhone from a friend and she's had it for about 2 years but only used for one full year because she got the 3g. the first week that i've had it on 2.2.1 and the battery seemed to have lasted longer if i remember. if this continues within the next month then i'll just send it to ipodjuice.com and have them put on a new battery since it's only 20 bucks. man this sucks for 2g users on 3.0!

btw anyone on here have sent their iPhone at ipodjuice.com for a battery replacement? i'd like to know some testimonials outside of ipodjuice site.
