MMS indeed works under certain circumstances. It does not work for everyone, if you want to play around and try the tricks by all means do it, but if you don't have time then don't bother. If the reason your upgrading is to get MMS just jailbreak and do SwirlyMMS because it gives you the same results and you wont be wasting your time if it doesnt work.

As for tethering on AT&T mine tethered without showing the blue "in call glow" tethering screen or giving any indication that it was taking place. Only happened once and everyone is saying that it does not work for AT&T so it was probably a once in a lifetime thing.

Bottom line nothing works every time. only MMS for some people and only some of the time for others. Mine will work for a few hours, then not for a few. No changes ever made to my account and the SIM card is never placed in another phone. I hope that helps.

Had this problem and and solved it. Jailbreak your iPhone 3.0 Firmware following these steps:
1. Use quickpwn to jailbreak it. Make sure "activate" is unchecked.
After you follow those procedures, then you open iTunes and sync, and iTunes will activate it automatically...
If you still don't have service, then you might not have your UDID registered. I had to give a developer my UDID for mines to work.

But can someone please help me out here? Jailbreaking the iPhone 3.0 is so ridiculous. What apps work? What doesn't? I have to install apps one by one to see if they work? Winterboard doesn't even work, after restarting the phone, it doens't even come up.

Jailbreaking is pointless, unless you read all pages of this thread, other than that, you'll be sitting there hours trying to install shit and nothing will work. So from now on, I'm just restoring to the regular 3.0 firmware without jailbreaking it. Sorry to sound stupid or w/e, just pissed. Anyone know how to only view apps that are compatible and works with 3.0?

This is like playing on a brand new WoW server. Bugs everywhere, crashes everytime, can't get back in after installing certain shit, just completely unstable. I'm in the need of serious help trying to install WORKING apps on a jailbroken 3.0, until then, I'll be using the regular old interface, rebooting the whole phone just to kill processes =\

ummm dude u could just do this go to thepiratebay.org then search iphone 3g os 2.0 beta 2 and look for sumthin that says leaked srry i cant post the url here and dude dont bother getting the UUID activation ull pay $8 for it but yeah download this first its a torrent file ok, after dat go to itunes click ur phone then shift+click restore then find that folder and click the firmware and open and dont be shocked cuz ur backround is pink its really like that n i dont know why bet it'll help u

dude download the 2.2.1 firmware go to itunes if itunes shows ur phone then click it then shift+clik restore find the firmware open and restore srry if doesnt work 4 u but it usually works for other people

tada....its now ready to be used as required.....


PLEASE NOTE DO NOT INSTALL WINTERBOARD AS IT DOES NOT WORK AND IT CAUSES YOU IPHONE TO BE STUCK IN A BOOT LOOP.....

hi .. had tried twice jailbreaking the iPhone using the unofficial QuickPwn 3.0 and the check with 'Activate' was removed but still the signal for carrier is not working and have no choice but to re install the Firmware 3.0 Beta 2. Take note .. all icon with Icy are empty..
