Updated to Version 2.2.1, Posted 01-27-2009, 08:59 PM #22 (permalink)
Well I had a jailbroken phone, but after doing the upgrade it put my phone back to original look. The upgrade went smooth with no issues at all. The only issue is that my phone is no longer jailbroken Back to the plain old iPhone.

Don't worry, the iPhone Dev Team will release a jailbreak for the new iPhone and iPod Touch firmwares (there is no estimated time but I think it will be released by tomorrow).

2.2.1 update., Posted 01-27-2009, 10:44 PM #25 (permalink)
Hey guys.. I'm really new to this...
N.E. who I did the update and it went smooth as well, no issues. I cannot however jailbreak. Quickpwn said something about an invalid string with the firmare. I tried doing a downgrade and I bricked my phone.. LOL i didn't see any way about reversing the update so i'm stuck with the 2.2.1 for now.. or am i???

I trust you guys will figure something out as since i've had my Iphone you guys have ALWAYS been extremely fast with coming out with jailbreaks...

Waiting patiently..

PS. Keep up the awesome work guys... u truly do rock!!!

Last time it took the Dev Team 3 days before having it cracked.
So be patience for a day or 2.

Jailbroken phone converted to new version, Posted 01-27-2009, 11:40 PM #30 (permalink)
Just wanted to drop a posting about this. My girlfriend's iPhone was jailbroken and crashed. I managed to get it up and running, but then it wasn't picking up a signal or network for that matter. I ended up having to restore...so they snuck that one in on me. She lost everything related to the jailbreak, but the phone now has a signal. As of now, it has not had any issues with the conversion back. If it does, I will post and let you all know.

Hurry up with figuring out the new version though! She won't rest until she has Tinkerbell back on her phone! LOL
