I got a 3gs today, and I jailbroke it with blackrain. I had a 3g before. Anyway when I jailbroke, it told me to reboot my phone it was a teetered jailbreak. So then I read that apple did something to the newer 3gs’s to make it more difficult to jailbreak. I was wondering if there is any way to tell this from the general tab or the box the phone came in. I know mines new, but I wanted to know how to tell the difference, and if the old 3gs is teetered also.

if you bought your iphone from apple after Sep then you wont be able to have a full jailbrake only tethered (dont know about a full update in the future) as for how to tell the diff you cant but a good way to know is if its pre Oct.
