I just remember when the 2.2.1 we all awaited with baited breaths for something better than the "turbo sim" Then 3.0 and voila within 1-2 weeks a viable jailbreak and unlock option opened up. Now, I am pretty sure if not certain that Apple knows their devices are purchased by AT&T customers and sold to T-mobile and third party carriers for use, that is if these people don't know someone who works in the store and just buys it straight out on the side. The point is, the product is being sold, it's being seen, used, marketed, and word of mouth, people who don't have Iphones try one and more than sure enough they want one, and most don't want to bother with AT&T.
Anyhow, is this new baseband crap something someone is working on or do we just resign ourselves to not being able to unlock?
