well, looking at the box there is the 3GS but i cant find anything different on the iphone itself.

Unless its a 32GB... the 16GB iphones look the same to me.
I do not have my 16GB 3G, but there has to be a way to tell from a 16GB 3GS or the 3G.

Yea there is. The compass and Voice Control when you turn them on. The 3G doesn't have either of them.

Actually there is a way to tell


Look at the back of the phone ( near the bottom ) it will say either 16GB or 32GB that's how you can tell.

It does matter, the 3gs has more options than the 3g and the biggest one is twice the RAM. The 3g has 128 mB of ram and the S has 256, mucho mucho faster running apps and everything else. I use the Memoryinfo App to free up more memory all the time and it keeps the phone running fast

Well, aside from the BOX ... if you are looking at the iPhone itself, the difference is that 3GS has the Compass Icon on the SB and if you're going to check the memory, 3G has 128MB while 3GS has 256 MB and 3GS runs faster than the 3G ...

Lets say this...


you have a 16GB 3G and a 16GB 3GS in your hand.


Without turning them ON, is there a way to tell witch one is the 3G and witch one is the 3GS...


I think they are identical but without turning them on, How can you tell what is what.


I only own a 32GB 3GS. so I cant compare them.
