Glad u guys got it working it's the 4th so I havnt been on. As far as the program geohot wrote it and the info to install it's on his blog

You have to wait for devs that make certain program to update them. It may not always be the program itself but keep in mind they can require other packages that need updated that cause it not to work.

Update on WinterBoard...


I got it to install and Open (Using the 3.0 beta method posted here)
It has to do with replacing a file called winterboard.dylib Or something close to it in the Winterboard.app folder. Replacing the original file with the one from a Lite version.


But as soon as I try to apply a theme, I get the rotating icon in the middle and thats it.
After a forced restart the phone never boots Only to the apple logo...


I hope this will help someone a little to figure it out.

Do NOT install WinterBoard (Springboard crashed every time i started it and went to Safe Mode)
I heard something about Winterboard Lite but didnt try it yet.

I tried this 4 times now and it worked every time.

From all the blogs and comments I have been reading about purple rain and purple snow I think I will wait for the dev team to release redsnow... Both these breaks seem to have a lot of patches missing and seem to be very unstable...

Any idea when will redsnow and ultrasnow for 3gs be released...?

look for redsn0w 0.8... NOT 0.7.2


It works great, but its not available for the 3.1 yet.

I do have one question about the iBSS stuff,
I grabbed the ECID and used geo's site to create the file but I only see one file and some posts talk about 2?
do I need to catch these files in a restore process from iTunes before they get deleted or is the file generated from geo's site all I need for the furture JB's?

Something from Cydia jacked up my phone and whenever I try opening Cydia my phone crashes, so I had to restore it. When trying to downgrade back to 3.0 so I can jailbreak it again, it keeps giving me an error msg stating that the firmware downloaded from the above link is not compatible....any help? Thanks.
