I live in Ontario, Canada, and there is a law that would give me a few days to terminate a contract immediately after signing one. I am planning on buying it from Rogers and was wondering if there is a cancellation fee of any sort, though again, there is a law that allows me to cancel after about 5 days after signing a contract so I do not know if the fee kicks in. I am also wondering if once that is canceled, would I simply be able to replace the SIM card with my own and just jailbreak/unlock it?
I know for sure there is a law, as I've signed a 1-year contract to a gym called Premier Fitness. After hearing about how they keep charging customers even when they are not under contract, I got scared and canceled the day after. I was not charged a fee and was returned my deposit sometime later.
I know not all of you are Ontarioans or Canadians for that matter but any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.
