Yes it is!

There are spam bots that keep registering, no matter what type of verification I put in place. I required e-mail activation, I used CAPTCHA, simple question and answer, and even Akismet for vBulletin. Actual spammers still registered and did all of these and started posting spam. Deleting all of these posts daily wasted a lot of my time, and I had no choice but to disable registration.

I'll enable registration again, but it will be some time in October or possibly earlier.

You shouldnt disable registering just because of the bots, we just should deal with banning them and deleting their spam.
