A Sticky on the topic of HOW TO CREATE A POST would be very helpful to many people who really don't know WHAT to post when they are looking for help.

Some basic guidelines that encourage users to adopt them by pointing out how much quicker they will receive a helpful answer if they supply the right information.

"Help", "Help Plez" , "I need Help", "Help me" etc - just don't get the job done.
Nor does "ipod" or "iphone" without which Gen or firmware or steps taken so far -

Maybe there could even be a field in the actual TITLE or MESSAGE to put Gen of item asking about and a field for firmware... Then it would be just a part of posting.
