Default No new messages whenever I visit?

Each time I visit, the board does not have any new messages - at least they are not marked as such. I do not mark forums as read when I leave or at any other time, so I do not understand why I have to figure out whats a new thread or post by the time stamp and why I have to scroll all the way through threads to read the new posts.

Every other forum I use keeps anything posted after I leave as an unread message and generally its in bold with some sort of arrow or indicator that will take you directly to the first post in the thread that was made after the last time you visited.

I do not see any options in the control panel to alter how the board marks threads as read, and I would prefer to know exactly what's new since my last visit.

very strange mine is working fine.

May i suggest when you log in you tick the remember me box.

I have seen a similar problem before where you go to the forum home page then log in, then it says no new posts

But if you are click on remember me this seems to have sorted the problem
    Remember Google is your friend.

Please use the forum search before posting,

This will save a lot of duplication of questions

I didn't change any settings but now it seems to be working normally. I see new threads in bold and can jump to the first unread message in threads.
