Planning on getting an iPad? Now is not a good time. Apple is announcing their new iPad 3 on their live iPad 3 event on March 7, 2012 at 10:00 AM PST/1:00 PM EST and you can watch a live stream video of new iPad 3 live event here. The event will take place in the Yerba Buena Center in San Francisco, California. Apple CEO Tim Cook will be unveiling the new iPad 3. The new iPad 3 is rumored to have a retina display, front-facing HD camera, Siri software support, and a thinner design.

Jailbreaking May Become Illegal Soon, Help Keep it Legal and Act Now

Jailbreaking was officially declared legal on July 26, 2010 by the U.S. Copyright Office. Unfortunately the ruling handed down by the U.S. Copyright Office was not permanent and it will be expiring soon, and if it doesn’t get renewed then jailbreaking will not be legal anymore. The EFF wants to convince the U.S. Copyright Office to renew the jailbreaking exemption, and also expand it to tablets and allow the jailbreaking of video game consoles as well.

You can help keep jailbreaking legal by submitting comments to the U.S. Copyright Office. Go to EFF’s Jailbreaking is Not A Crime webpage, read their page, and following their link to submit your comments to the U.S. Copyright Office. The deadline for submitting your comments is on February 10 at 5 PM Eastern, so be sure to submit your comments by then.

Today Apple has officially released the new iOS 5 software update. The iOS 5 download links are below. iOS 5 has over 200 new features including, messaging, notifications, and over the air updates. You can either update through iTunes or download iOS 5 IPSW and update.

Steps to install iOS 5 Download

1. Download iTunes 10.5 from here.

2. Download the iOS 5 firmware.

3. Install through iTunes by shift/option-clicking Update and selecting the IPSW file you downloaded.

Jailbreak iOS 5 Download Information

You can currently jailbreak iOS 5 (tethered only, which means you’ll need to jailbreak each time you reboot your device), but no untethered jailbreak for iOS 5 has been released yet. You should wait for an untethered jailbreak to be released.

RIP Steve Jobs (1955 – 2011)

Today, Apple Co-founder and former CEO Steve Jobs died. He was battling pancreatic cancer, and died at age 56. We are sorry to hear of his loss, and offer our condolences to his family. RIP Steve jobs, you will be missed!

New iPhone 4S features, Price, Release Date, and everything you need to know!

Today Apple announced a new iPhone, the iPhone 4S at their Let’s Talk iPhone keynote. It does not have a new design, but it has better and improved specs. If you do a lot of gaming on your iPhone, then this will really make a huge difference. According to Apple’s CEO Tim Cooke, the iPhone 4S “screams on games”.

iPhone 4S Features

iPhone 4S will ship with the newest iOS 5 software. It will be available on AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint in the US. Here are the key specs of the iPhone 4S:

Dual-Core A5 chip – Is up to two times more powerful and has up to seven times more powerful graphics.
8 Megapixels Camera with 1080p HD video recording, five-element lens, and face detection
Supports both GSM and CDMA
Siri - A voice assistent that allows you to use your voice to control your phone. With Siri you can make phone calls, send messages, schedule meetings, set reminders, and much more.
HSDPA support
8 Hours of talk time, 14 hours of 2G talk time, 6 hours of 3G browsing, 9 hours of WiFi browsing, 40 hours of music, and 10 hours of video

Apple announced the new iPhone 4S, new iPod touches (available in white and black), reduced iPod nano prices, and the iOS 5 release date in their Let’s Talk iPhone event today. iOS 5 GM Download Links

Apple has released the new iOS 5 GM software release to developers in the iOS Dev Center. The iOS 5 GM aka iOS 5 Golden Master release is the final release of iOS 5 until it’s officially released to the public on October 12th. iOS 5 will have over 200 new features including, messaging, notifications, and over the air updates. For those who are currently using a beta version of iOS 5, the iOS 5 GM build needs to be downloaded from the iOS Dev Center and can’t be updated over the air.
