Jailbreak iOS 5 Download Information

You can currently jailbreak iOS 5 (tethered only, which means you’ll need to jailbreak each time you reboot your device), but no untethered  jailbreak for iOS 5 has been released yet. You should wait for an untethered jailbreak to be released.

Will it be possible to Jailbreak in the future, if I install the iOS 5 now? Or should I wait till a full Jailbreak for iOS 5 is finished?

Apparently you didn’t read the whole article:

“You can currently jailbreak iOS 5 (tethered only, which means you’ll need to jailbreak each time you reboot your device), but no untethered jailbreak for iOS 5 has been released yet. You should wait for an untethered jailbreak to be released.”

It’s a FULL tethered jailbreak, just recommended to wait for the untethered jailbreak to launch.

Recommendation’s for the future: READ THE WHOLE ARTICLE (Usually help’s avoid dumb question’s)

If you don’t mind using the tethered version then you can go on and upgrade now. I recommend backing up your SHSH files before you start the process in case you regret and decide to downgrade.

I am in the same boat as Jonathan. I would like to use all the features of iOS 5 now in tethered mode and as soon as untethered is released update to that one. Would you suggest skip unteathered all together and wait for full untethered jailbreak release or use un for now? Do you guys think it will be possible to use iOS 5 in tethered mode and and easy update without loosing data to untethered?

To all…as stated in the article, while there is a tethered jailbreak available, the tethered kind are a pain in the posterior. Wait for news of the untethered jailbreak. To SAIF, download your IOS (above), connect device, open iTunes, click device, right-click and back up. When finished, hold down shift and click restore. Choose restore to defaults. Navigate to the IOS you downloaded, select it and let er rip. Restore backup when complete. –use at your own risk…..they are from memory, but ought to get you pretty close–

it’s a brand new phone with all new architecture so it will be awhile before it’s jail broken. iOS 5 unthethered will be first then the 4s
