Jailbreak iOS4 hardware, yes you can do it as we have already seen jailbreaks for the beta releases of 4.0. Right now no jailbreak is out yet for the iPhone or iPod touch on iOS4 The only software we know of so far that may be able to jailbreak iOS4 is limera1n, which is not even out yet. Limera1n is purportedly a 1-click easy to use jailbreaking program.

I jailbroke the 4.0 that came out today with redsn0w 0.9.5b5-1 by selecting the beta firmware file and it worked.
@john did you use it for the 3gs? And was it for windows?
iPod touch 2g. getting the iPhone 4 in 3 days though. and I meant to say the GM version, not the beta.
you can use redsn0w 0.9.5b5-2 (not b5-1). you have to point it to the actual 4.0 software, not the beta. Google redsn0w 0.9.5b5-2 and download it.
I already tried it on 3gs, and it worked, it also worked on 3g.
When limera1n comes out, for sure there would be an unlock (remember blackra1n?)
Was this done on a new 3gs with the new boot rom or the older ones? I have a newer 3GS and want to JB it. But I have windows so I don’t think redsn0w will work. Anyways looks like I’m going to have to wait.
The word on the street is that GeoHot has sold out to the Big Boys AT&T and Apple. Yep I have insider information from a financial accountant at Apple that GeoHot is on the payroll not to produce another Jailbreak or unlock, else face criminal charges. That’s what happens when you are the little guy caught with your pants down. To bad Geo, we understand that you couldn’t resist the money and sold yourself and your followers out. Sold out? really? Are you saying you wouldn’t do the same? Of course you would. Balls has nothing to do with it, the economy sucks, cost of living goes up while jobs are being cut, you cant blame anyone for taking a paycheck when ones offered. Yeah, Geohot was awesome at what he did and will be missed, but how much money did his “followers” put in his pocket?
