Spirit JailbreakThe Spirit Jailbreak, Verizon iPhone release date, and iPhone 4G were all highlights of this week. Firstly, the Spirit Jailbreak for iPhone was released today, and more info on it is available on the Spirit Jailbreak download post. Spirit Jailbreak is the first public software release that can jailbreak iPad. It was originally going to launch on Friday, but it's developer, comex decided to release it on Sunday instead. Apple can easily patch th Spirit Jailbreak now that it's out there, because it uses a simple exploit.

The Verizon iPhone release date may be announced on June 11, the same day Apple is holding the Worldwide Developer Conference. That's just a rumor! Verizon's CEO has expressed interest in having an iPhone on the Verizon Wireless network, so it's Apple's choice now whether or not they want to start opening up to other carriers or stick with AT&T.

The iPhone 4G prototype leaked by Gizmodo last week has caused a lot of buzz. Many people now know that Apple is launching a new iPhone 4G in June 2010, and as a result Apple will be loosing sales on the iPhone 3GS until the new iPhone 4G is released. The iPhone 4G has a front facing camera, and Gizmodo leaked a photo gallery of a prototype version of it on their site.
