A Verizon iPhone release is imminent, either this year or the next analysts say. The above photo is the new iPhone 4G hardware prototype with iPhone 4.0 software. Apple originally tried offering the iPhone on Verizon, but Verizon declined because they wanted extra control on the apps on the iPhone so AT&T got the contract instead. I'm sure Verizon's CEO is regretting doing that, because AT&T got a lot of revenue, in fact most of the revenue that AT&T got was from the iPhone. Now Verizon's CEO has recently expressed interest in getting the iPhone on Verizon, but has not announced any details.
We can only wait until June to find out if Apple has plans to release a Verizon iPhone this year. June is when the Worldwide Developers Conference is, and Apple announces new products. The iPhone 4.0 software and new iPhone 4G will be released during this month.
