Verizon iPhone release date and new iPhone 4G update

Verizon iPhone

If rumors are true, Verizon iPhone release date and new iPhone 4G update is coming June 7. Apple sent out a press release today confirming June 7-11 as the date for their annual Worldwide Developers Conference, which is also known as WWDC 2010.

Early last week, Gizmodo got hold of the iPhone 4G hardware prototype and posted a photo gallery of it online along with a video of it. A front facing camera was found on the iPhone 4G prototype, which confirms that it can be used for video chat.

The iPhone 4G unit that Gizmodo had with them had a high resolution screen, and they confirmed this by looking at the “Connect to iTunes” screen. Unfortunately the iPhone 4G prototype stopped working because Gizmodo opened up the iPhone to see all the parts that were in there and may have broken something up in there. One can hope that Gizmodo is more careful with any future iPhone leak that they get.

We will also see the iPhone OS 4.0 software download on June 7. Analysts estimate that there will be two iPhones launched on June 7, and one will support Verizon’s CDMA network. The Verizon iPhone won’t work on 4G network, the 4G just stands for fourth generation. Verizon’s 4G network is expected to be ready in 2011.
