Verizon iPhone release date and iPhone 4G stolen prototype

The Wall Street Journal is confident about a Verizon iPhone coming this year, but there are a few pieces of evidence that indicate that a Verizon iPhone is not likely until 2011. First, the photo above is an iPhone 4G prototype with iPhone OS 4.0 software. This iPhone 4G was stolen from an Apple employee and sold to a popular tech news blog named Gizmodo. It has a micro-sim slot, which means that it’s not a Verizon iPhone. Now wait a minute, an article on the Wall Street Journal says that Apple is making two iPhones: One that is not a Verizon iPhone, and another that is.

If the Wall Street Journal’s prediction turns out to be true, then June will be one happy month for Verizon users. Why? Well, because Apple will be announcing the new iPhone in June. If you are planning on getting an iPhone 3GS, don’t get one yet and be sure to tell your friends too. It’s been confirmed that a new iPhone is coming this summer.
