Verizon iPhone 4G on iPhone 4.0 likely in June 2010
Reports of a Verizon iPhone 4G on iPhone 4.0 software have been popping up a lot lately. Apple is really good at keeping quiet about their future products until they are actually released. The iPhone 4G phone is no exception, and Apple will be releasing it this June during the WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference) along with the new iPhone OS 4.0 software.
The Verizon CEO, Ivan Seidenberg recently expressed interest in a Verizon iPhone and told the Associated Press that it wants to carry the iPhone but he declined to announce if or when Verizon plans to carry the iPhone. Only two months left until we find out whether or not the most popular carrier in the US gets the most popular smartphone. It would be crazy of Apple not to launch the iPhone 4G on Verizon. The only thing that could prevent Apple from offering the iPhone 4G on Verizon is their contract with AT&T, which may still be an exclusive contract that doesn’t allow Apple to launch the iPhone on other carriers. Anyone that jailbreaks their iPhone or iPod touch can expect to jailbreak iPhone 4.0 in June.

if the 4g launches on verizon and only verizon, jailbreaking for other carriers is a moot point as unless you could find some way to put a sim card in the phone when this company does not use this technology, its going to stay on the verizon network.
its a lot more logical that there will be a cdma and gsm version released for all carriers or this will be released only on at&t than there will be a version just for verizon.
Jailbreaking is not just done for the purpose of unlocking, but also for tethering, TRUE multi-tasking, and highly customizable themes, and a lot more!

There will be no CDMA iPhone. The CDMA radio draws too much power and CDMA is a dead technology. Apple is not known for embracing dead-end technologies and CDMA is dead-end.
Perhaps I am missing something, but for a long time Verizon has offered international phones with GSM, so it would not be a far stretch to assume a deal for GSM in the USA on Verizon.

This is kinda old news.
i talked with a verizon rep the other day and he was saying verizon refuses to carry a phone with an irreplacable battery. but verizon will come out with a iphone similar device. so we shall see
