iPad 3G release date, and HP Slate release date

If you were patient, and decided to order the iPad 3G instead of the iPad WiFi then you must be waiting to see when it will be actually released. The iPad 3G release date is April 30. The advantage of using the iPad 3G is that you can pay $30/mo. to AT&T (without contract, and unlimited data) and get Internet access anywhere.
If you didn’t like the iPad you may want to consider looking at it’s competitor, the HP Slate. The HP Slate release date is expected to be in June. Unlike the iPad, it has a web cam and supports Adobe Flash Player and all Windows 7 apps, and also has a SD card slot. This device seems to be a whole lot better than the iPad, but we don’t know how good it is until it’s out. There’s only two months left, so it shouldn’t be long till the HP Slate tablet is out. Are you planning on getting it?

The HP Slate hasn’t even been released yet and i know its gonna Kill the iPad. It has a web cam and supports Adobe Flash Player and all Windows 7 apps, and also has a SD card slot. Who Knows, maybe they will add a few more things just to make sure the iPad can’t come back from the grave.
The slate has already been reviewed and found to be not a competitor to the iPad. I do think the iPad needs a camera (screen side), but the hp’s Achilles heel will be it’s OS. It will be slow and laggy. Possibly the new android based tablets coming will give the iPad a challenge, but the HP slate will not make a dent.
Agreed. Won’t even make a dent in iPad sales.
The hp slate is a multitouch net book. My daughter has a net book running windows 7 and the net book is slowwwww. The ipad 1 Gen has no camera, if it did how would they sell the second Gen? But the ipad is fast and it is fun to use.
The Slate has not been “reviewed.”
Some guy managed to get his hands on it for under 10 minutes, and complained that:
1) it took long to boot up, &
2) he had to enter a password (how annoying for him).
And that’s it.
Well it’s basically a Netbook. A different category from the iPad entirely. iPad is an entertainment device. and Ebook reader & browsing device.
The Slate is a productivity device, a computer. It’s processor/hardware configuration isn’t such a bad one — the same config has worked well in other Netbooks running 7, and should, in theory, work well on the device.
No guarantees though — the proof is in the pudding, and I’ll wait until we see some ‘Actual’ reviews.
Obviously you don’t know much about tech :). HP Slate won’t kill the iPad, not even a little. FYI flash won’t be around for long, it’s not the future. It will be replaced by HTML5.
Hp slate will probably be bought by techie, but the average user will be getting the ipad. Why you might ask, apps…if they want an app they go to the app store and do a search and they have it…
If Microsoft ever have an app store like apple, then it would get interesting…;p
That’s why apple use the iphone os, instead of the Mac os on the ipad..
