Due to leak, we may see early launch of iPhone 4G

iPhone 4GThe iPhone 4G photo up there and a video was leaked by Gizmodo. We may see the iPhone 4G launch early because of this, says Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster. According to Munster, the iPhone leak may cause sales of iPhone to go down as a result of customers holding off until the new iPhone launch. Munster hasn’t place any estimate as to how much the leak could have cost Apple, but “it’s safe to say, more people are now waiting for the new one, which is a negative for June iPhone sales,” Munster said. I’m not sure I agree with Munster about the iPhone 4G launching early, Apple is still beta testing the iPhone 4.0 software which is buggy right now and they can’t really speed up testing.

As for the Gizmodo blogger who leaked the iPhone 4G, he had his home raided and server and computer taken away. Apple is not going to rest until they’ve fully investigated on how the iPhone leaked. Apple may also be firing the employee who got drunk and lost the iPhone to someone who stole it and sold it to Gizmodo.
