4 good reasons not to get iPhone 4G
A lot about the iPhone 4G has been revealed this week, including rumors about a Verizon iPhone, and more iPhone 4.0 details. The photo of the iPhone 4G hardware prototype along with videos was first leaked by popular tech site Gizmodo and the blogger who leaked it had his server and computer taken away by Apple. 1. iPhone 4G doesn’t support Adobe Flash Player
Adobe can get Adobe Flash Player to work on the iPhone, but Apple does not want to approve it. The logical reason for them not wanting to approve it is because Adobe Flash Player apps could be a threat to Apple’s own App Store. Apple is hiding behind excuses that “Flash Player is laggy”, but they could have at least given users an option to enable or disable flash.
2. No SD card slot
iPhone 4G will come with the new iPhone OS 4.0 software that will have support for multi-tasking, a social gaming center, and video chat for iPhone 4G only.
3. No freedom of installing apps you would like
Apple picks and approves whichever application it would like to approve in their App Store. Silly fart apps can get approved, but quality apps can get rejected for weird reasons.
4. Carrier restriction (possibly)
Rumors of a Verizon iPhone are really strong around this time of the year, but that happened in 2008 as well. The iPhone 4G will most likely be restricted to AT&T again this year because of an exclusive agreement and because Verizon’s 4G network won’t be ready until 2010. If that’s the case then I know I won’t get the iPhone 4G, because AT&T coverage sucks where I live.

Hehe, just messing (sort of). All very valid reasons, the lack of flash player 10.1 pisses me off, but oh well, there loss.
sounds biast and dude!!! its the NEXT iphone its only going to be better than the last!!! i know ur probably goin to get it, because its not about it being able to do this or that, its about having the latest and greatest. the iphone is STILL the best phone out there!!! its not JUST a phone PPL, it seems to me that everyone keeps forgetting it can do much more than make a call!!!!

That’s the worst reasons for not getting an iPhone I have ever seen.
Nobody needs Adobe. Flashplayer slowly disapears from web sites and Apple will push it out from the market sooner or later.

You want freedom for apps? Make one yourself! Restrictions prtect our ohones from being messed with, bricked and clogged up by crap software.
AT&T won’t get an exclusive contract for iPhone 4G. They will probably get different model specific for mobile broadband. I can’t say I care much ’cause i live in the UK but who ever wrote that article has got a beef against Apple… Shame… iPhone RULEZ!

I suppose it comes down to how you use your phone. I have an iphone 3GS. I can download just about any applications I want (there are like 140,00 of them). I also needed to Jailbreak my phone to get tethering, flash drive support, multitasking, and many other things I really needed.
I don’t think the issue is flash or sd card slots for me. The real issue for me is freedom to install any apps that I want
Those might be the dumbest four reasons not to get an iPhone that I have heard. Yes, not having flash sucks, but that is a reason not to get a phone? I am sure we could pick apart every phone out there and find many more reasons not to get them, besides lack of flash. Why do you need an sd card if you are getting possibly 64gb of storage on a phone….really? If you dont like the enormous amounts of apps available….then jailbreak. I dont mind that Apple rejects the porn apps and other junk. Finally, if you are an ATT cusomer, you dont enjoy the iPhone. If you are not with ATT, then join. Otherwise get another phone. But that isnt a reason to boycott this one. Only an ATT customer would qualify as a person who CHOOSES not to get this phone.

you have the option of choosing from over 200,000 apps more than any other company much more choice and their apps won’t screw ur phone.

#1 – this is a reason to get the iPhone. I am not looking forward to using an android phone, browsing the web, and getting all these slowdowns due to the latest adobe flash add. I love the fact that it has made a lot of people move towards open standards, like HTML 5, away from flash. And screw your flash menus.
#2 – this would be good, but you can get phones with 64gb, and you can store data remotely, so not the biggest problem. Would be good to copy images from my camera onto the mem though.
#3 – Yeah, this should be easier, but there are so many great apps on the appstore, it hasn’t bothered me. And of course, I could just write my own. (Ok, this doesn’t help the majority).
#4 – Not for me in Australia, can get an unlocked phone directly from Apple. Finally, the US loses one, despite getting all the good stuff early.
How utterly ridiculous, these ARE good reasons not to get the iphone. Don’t use. Flash? Wtf yes everyone who browses the web uses flash, it’s ok I understans you must not be “computer literate” lol. The iPhone like all Apple products are not designed for geeks/power users and well people who know how compute at an above average level. My rooted moto Droid can do everything the Iphone can and cheaper. Infact it can do more, I have programming experience if I want an iPhone App, I’ll rip the code and make it work on my Droid. HTML 5 won’t be out until 2012, so fail on that. Coverage in US sucks, the video chat is only iphone to iphone, SD cards are essential because 6GB(wtf is that guy smoking) is NOT enough. I filled a 16gb fast. With converted TV episodes and movies, snes, nes, sega, pc games, music, and oh yeah APPs! Apple charges too much, leaves out. Basic features and then overcharges for those upgrades, horrible company, and not fooling the power users, sorry.
well first of all if its jailbroken u can play flash videos,the no sd card slot is still true but if u had another phone would it really use all that space…prob not but with the iphone u will put tons of apps and music and videos so let apple decide to be a bitch.

Your reason for why Apple refuses to support Adobe Flash is the best. There are too many “Appletons” who mouth Job’s excuse that Flash is unreliable or slow. While you are at it, don’t forget that the iPhones have no user changeable batteries. Unfortunately, in my line of work, I have to use the iPhone for now. Upnp media controller/player is why I need it. But once there are more apps available for the Android OS and Fido, my carrier in Canada, offers better the Android phones, I shall be ditching my iPhone 4 32. I know there will be Appletons waiting to snatch it up.
