Jailbreak iPod touch 3.1.3
The iPhone 3.1.3 update that Apple released today required users of jailbroken iPhones or iPod Touches to wait for a new jailbreak software to be released before updating. This jailbreak is for 3.1.2 but may work for iPod touch 2G 3.1.3, iPod touch 3G 3.1.3, or iPod touch first generation.
If you want to just jailbreak iPod touch 3.1.3 you can try the old jailbreak and see if it works, if not then you will need to just wait for updates here.
- iPod touch 3.1.3 download (iPod1,1_3.1.3_7E18_Restore.ipsw, 241 MB)
- iPod touch 2g 3.1.3 download (iPod1,2_3.1.3_7E18_Restore.ipsw, 242 MB)
- iPhone 3g 3.1.3 download (iPod2,1_3.1.3_7E18_Restore.ipsw, 306 MB)
Note: Do no’t use Safari to download iPhone 3.1.2 IPSW files, instead use another browser. Safari downloads this as a .ZIP and iTunes is not able to recognize the firmware that way.
Jailbreak iPod touch 3.1.3 with blackra1n
2. Click the make it ra1n button.
3. Your iPhone or iPod Touch will reboot once blackra1n is done doing it’s thing and you should see the blackra1n icon on there. If you don’t see the blackra1n icon, go to the last page on your iDevice and you should see it.
4. Install your preferred aplication from the blackra1n app. You have the option of choosing Cydia, Icy, or Rock. I don’t recommend you to install them all at once, because that may cause problems. Install them one at a time.
Jailbreak iPhone 3.1.3 with PwnageTool
1. Download PwnageTool 3.1.4 (only works with Mac!)
2. You will be creating a custom IPSW and then restoring it through iTunes. If you don’t know how to do that, read my jailbreak iPhone 3.1 with PwnageTool post which gives step by step instructions.

I had the same problem. I had a iPod touch 64GB 3rd gen and I really wanted to jailbreak it, but there was just no software to do it with! I looked for weeks until I found a program called ‘spirit jailbreak’ claiming it would jailbreak iPod’s/ iPhone’s with 3.1.3 firmware. I tried it and within seconds, it worked! it then put Cydia and hen later Winterboard into my iPod touch, and now I have full access to its features! I also have an app that lets me download app store applications absolutely free!!!! I also know heaps more cool things like, dragging ‘n’ dropping files on ANY computer without using iTunes, or having to register to another computer!

I’ve been searching for similar jailbreaking software for my ipod touch 3rd gen w/3.1.3 firmware.
I’ve never done this before as my ipod touch is only 3 months old.
I could use your help with process and additional apps for free app store applications.

I don’t know if you have any solutions or help as to why it is doing this, but I was excited when I read you found another way of jailbreaking your ipod/iphone. When I downloaded it, then opened up spirit, it said to connect my device.. i tried re connecting my ipod over and over and it did not work, but iTunes noticed it. Do you know if this is because my ipod is dead? I don’t want to restore it, cause’ I do not have it backed up, so I will lose everything. I used to be able to just jailbreak it again, then it would turn back on and charge. and now nothing seems to work..

The picture of the guy with iPods doesn’t show up and it’s just a black screen.
Blackra1n says it’s jailbroken but it isn’t because nothing else pops up on the iPod. My version is 3.1.3

Spirit is the best so far! I dl it… jailbroke it… And in less then 10sec i have cydia on ipod and im researching what i do now. You guys should really check this shiznit out!

Hi,yesterday I dowloaded Spirit Jailbreak for my ipod touch 3g version 3.1.3.It seemed to work but while charging after the jailbraik it didn’t work any more.Today there’s only the apple sign on the display and I can’t do anything.PLEASE HELP!
