Jailbreak iPod touch 3.1.3 untethered
The iPhone 3.1.3 update that Apple released today caused people who updated to it to loose their jailbreak. My jailbreak iPod touch 3.1.3 post has instructions on how users can jailbreak their device with older jailbreak software. The jailbreak did not work for any iPod touch device, but you can prepare for it by following the instrutions below.
If you want to just jailbreak iPod touch 3.1.3, download iPhone userbar and you will receive an alert once the jailbreak is out. The user bar also has download links for the following firmware, so I recommend you download your firmware in advance so you can use it when you jailbreak.
- iPod touch 3.1.3 download (iPod1,1_3.1.3_7E18_Restore.ipsw, 241 MB)
- iPod touch 2g 3.1.3 download (iPod1,2_3.1.3_7E18_Restore.ipsw, 242 MB)
- iPhone 3g 3.1.3 download (iPod2,1_3.1.3_7E18_Restore.ipsw, 306 MB)
Jailbreak iPod touch 3.1.3: Untethered vs tethered
An tethered jailbreak means your iPod touch will need to go through a jailbreak process again if you restart it, and untethered means that you won’t have to jailbreak every time you restart because the jailbreak is permanent. The tethered jailbreaks started coming when Apple patched an exploit that allowed an untethered jailbreak.

use blackra1n and go on blackweather if you have a mac use the pic of a apple if you have windows use the one with the window pic on it
hey randy for it i still did it and i rebooted my ipod touch 3G 3.1.3 and there wasn’t a blackra1n thing ANYWHERE i tried it 3 times and STILL nothing happened!! what do ido
yo i tried that and after it downloaded i launched it and I got a ASL.dll error or something. I downloaded repeatedly but no good.
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support you need to put the blackra1n.exe in this map.. then it works ;)
Search for asl.dll and move blackra1n to whatever folder it is in. Run blackra1n again and it will be fine

your ipod is probably in recovery…you have to restor for it to work…sucks for you man…same thing just happened to me
To remove a ipod touch from recovery, just press the menu and power botton for 5-7 sec… It will put the apple back in the main window
hold the home button and the sleep button continuously at the same time
restore it and wite for a day and jailbreak it you got to turn it off when you jailbreak it and unlock it

I had upgraded to 3.1.3 then wasn’t able to then what I did was downgrade the firmware back to 3.1.2. Steps to follow
1. Download the 3.1.2 firmware (google it) make sure its 4 ipod touch or whatever ur usin
2. Open itunes and hold shift then restore until window open get ur firmware u saved and click open then click restore
3. Once done get blkrain (not sure of spellin jus google it) the one ur gonna need is blkrain RC3 NOT RC1.
4 run blkrain let it do what it does and ur done .
This is an thethered jailbreak meanin if u cut ur ipod iphone off u will have to run blk rain to turn it bk on..if u need ne help email me sexyback0214 @ yahoo com
not possible, Apple had already stop signing the 3.1.2 firmware so you can’t downgrade. sorry to be your rain cloud
it is possible to downgrade i have done it with my ipod touch 3g but you need to change your host files to do that because apple has stop signing the 3.1.2 os

i am missing the ASL.dll for blackra1n and it will not work it stops with the error and then it starts with the make it rain menu and then it says the exe doesnt work.
when you get that error code, you have to copy the blackra1n exe. file into C:/ProgramFiles(86x)/CommonFiles/Apple/AppleApplicationSupport ~ I’m using Windows7. It ran it for me then, but I was still unable to jailbreak it. It just put it into recovery. (On a Itouch 3gs 8g MC model with 3.1.3firmware.) I’m going to try and restore my firmware and see if that works…

I tried to jailbreak so many times and it hasn’t worked. I tried to downgrade to 3.1.2, and it didn’t work either. It just doesn’t let me downgrade, it says the firmware is not compatible. I have an itouch 3gen 3.1.3, and I’ve seen on youtube how this boy downgrade his and then jailbreak it. He shows proof that his is a 3gen 3.1.3 before downgrading and shows it after the downgrade that it becomes a 3.1.2…how in the heck I cannot do that with mine…By the way..his iTouch is a 3gen 3.1.3 MC, and he just jailbroke it with blackrain…just like that.
there is a file in cydia that allows you to fake your firmware as 3.1.3 so my guess is that he is using jailbroken 3.1.2 with the fake firmware set to 3.1.3 d;-j there is not as yet an untehtered jailbreak for itouch 3g 3.1.3 . Maybe ppl shud just chill and stop being in such a rush to change there firmware everytime a new one is released. Peace out!
Listen all, I have ipt 2gen 8gb MC model with 3.1.3 firmware and it is jailbroken. You first have to downgrade firmware to 3.1.2 by restoring it in itunes. Next go to redmond pie they have a fix on there for itunes 9.1 by some french guy. I did exactly what he said and black rainrc3 does work. Mine is jailbroke
but NOT untethered. I am not lying either. good luck and have fun.
blackra1n did not work for ipod touch 3g 3.1.3!!
It is my understanding that if you have completed the “upgrade” to 3.1.3 then you cannot revert to 3.1.2 by any method at present, if you try it fails at 80% through the process, and there are no tethered or untethered jailbreaks for 3.1.3. (although there are claims that one is on the way perhaps in a few weeks) if anyone knows different then please let me know.
Well all of you guys have to wait i guess until the jailbreak for 3.13 comes out. Before there was no jailbreak for 3.12 with redsn0w, but after i waited, the jailbreak for 3.12 came up!
