Jailbreak and unlock iPhone 3.1.3
Today the iPhone 3.1.3 update was released to iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, and iPod Touch usres. This update includes mainly bug fixes. If you would like to jailbreak or unlock your device, you must read this. If you have an unlocked iPhone 3G or iPhone 3GS do not update to this new firmware, updating to the iPhone 3.1.2 firmware will permanently update your baseband. The newer baseband does not support software unlocking.
The jailbreak has not been released yet, but you if you’ve got too much time on your hands you may be able to jailbreak if you try the following. If this works please share your results in the comments.
How to Jailbreak iPhone 3.1.3
1. Update to iPhone 3.1.3. After updating, find your iPhone 3.1.3 IPSW file or download it using any of the links below. Remember, don’t use Safari to download. Safari can’t download .IPSW files properly, use a different browser!
If you are having trouble downloading the iPhone 3.1.2 firmware through the iTunes Application then you can directly download the appropriate firmware for your device by downloading iPhone userbar and clicking Downloads button and then downloading the appropriate firmware:
- iPhone 3.1.3download (iPhone1,1_3.1.3_7E18_Restore.ipsw, 241 MB)
- iPhone 3G 3.1.3 download (iPhone1,2_3.1.3_7E18_Restore.ipsw, 242 MB)
- iPhone 3GS 3.1.3 download (iPhone2,1_3.1.3_7E18_Restore.ipsw, 306 MB)
2. Download jailbreak from iPhone toolbar (only works on Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer)
3. Follow the jailbreaking guide at the Jailbreak iPhone 3.1 post.
Unlock iPhone 3.1.3
It’s possible to unlock iPhone 3.1.3 but only if your baseband has not been updated to 05.11.07 or the newer baseband, you must create a custom firmware that uses the 04.26.08 baseband. The iPhone 3.1.3 update updates the baseband to a newer one that permanently blocks the software unlock. A guide on how to unlock iPhone 3.1.3 will be up once a jailbreak tool is released.
For now, follow downlolad iPhone toolbar and you’ll receive an alert once it’s released.

Dear All… I m just a bigener for iphone device.. i need free apps without going into any risky operation. Is there any simple way to have free applications for a factory unlocked iphone 3gs having BB 5.12.1 and version 3.1.3. ill be greatfull if anyone can help me out with this..
when u unlock&jailbreak your iphone u will still have your app store and also the free apps on cydia. i jailbroke my iphone but i cant unlock it yet=[

hi i just figured out how to jailbreak 3.1.3, use reds0w 0.9.2 then download iPhone1,2_3.1.3_7E18_Restore.ipsw open redsn0w brows the file and follow the steps. and u have the phone back on.
No you can’t . They will say incorrect firmware or wrong firmware something like that.

Download iphone 3.1.2 firmware and use it to restore in redsnow 0.9.2.. Yes iam saying it for iphone 3g 3.1.3 firmware.. It will work.. you can jailbreak.. no unlock yet..

Hello, to rename a .zip firmware to .ipsw in windows after you download it
FIRST: Open Start menu, click control panel,
SECOND: click folder options (if in classic view) OR click
appearance and themes then folder optons (if in
category view)
THIRD: Click the VIEW tab then under advance settings
UNCHECK “hide extension for known file types” and click
apply then ok
FOURTH: Find firmware file, right click, select rename,
delete “.zip” part of the name and retype “.ipsw”

The best way to download an ipsw firmware file as *.ipsw in windows is to rename the file’s extension as .zip to .ipsw before downloading it in the file download pop-up in your download manger. All download managers allow you to rename the file’s extension (if you know what your are doing!) bfore you download it. I use IDM 5.18. It does work.

All you need to do is rename the extension of your downloaded firmware from .zip to .ipsw and then do the rest of instructions.
i managed to jailbreak with redsnow on 3g 3.1.3 05.12.01 but the phone went heywire went i tried to unlock,took me all night to get it back to original state

guys, i too got my iphone 3g from ebay, which came 3.1.2 jailbroken but locked, well i was very stupid to upgrade to 3.1.3 which become 5.12 BB, still my iphone is a MB model, well pls anyone help me out to unlock it….atleast anyway to down grade all back!!!
fyi.. there is no downgrade available.. there is no turning back after upgrading to 3.1.3

3.1.3 firmware will have to wait until the end of May new software is coming out to unlock the 3.1.3 firmware….☺☺☺
I am quite upset with most of the advertisers online who sell the “solution” for unlocking iphones for money. NONE of them can unlock an iphone 3gs with 3.1.3 firmware, yet they all advertise they can!! How can these guys get away with it. I am personally desperate to get an answer for how to unlock my iphone 3gs with 3.1.3 firmware and 5.12.01 If anyone can tell me how to restore to a previous version of firmware, etc so i can unlock my phone it would be appreciated.

omg i kno right?! i tried 28 phone stores and they all say it cant be unlocked and may never be unlocked, i just got my iPhone 3Gs yesterday and now i cant use it cus i use T-Mobile

you can downgrade your firmware really easily but it won’t downgrade your baseband if you’re at 5.12.01
the only way to downgrade your baseband is with a program called “fuzzyband” which can be installed using cydia
but fuzzyband only works if you have bootloader version 5.8 or lower
i did the same thing…i downgrade my iphon 3g ..but i can’t unlocked with cydia…because ones you update your iphone with the lates version 3.1.3 with itunes you lose….now you have to wait for the kit to unlockedddddd….i’m with T-MOBILE CARRIER.. WAITING FOR 1 MONTHS…
i have a question i just jailborke my lphone using the 3.1.2 firmware and the redsn0w 0.9.3 but i want to unlock it is it not availible for that firmware i was trying to use the blackra1n but it gave me an alert “This application has failed to start because ASL.dll was not found. Re-installing the applicatioon may fix this problem.” I keep downloading the software and no change could some one point me in the right direction.???
heres the fix put the blackrain icon on apple folder…to do this go to common files then choose apple folder then paste the blackrain icon there…then from there create a shortcut (do not copy and paste!!!,just do right click and choose create a shortcut) then move the created shortcut in your desktop…by then the blackrain should work again…i hope this wil helps…

well u have to install this software in the apple folder where all the application files are present,like in my computer i had to install the blackrain software in this location for which the link is given below
like in the my computer this folder was located as follows
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support

You wont be able to unlock if your baseband has been updated to 05.11.07 or the newer. you will have to wait for the unlock once the new iphone os 4 comes out.

hey there i badly need help. my cydia asked me about essential download and i have slected it. then in the middle of downloading it stopped and now it doesnt work at all. whatever i do with cydia it says

well!!! luky mine! i have found a new 3gs 3.1.3, 5.12.07 Mc boot 5.8 very demage. after fix and charge`m i have found, tha sim is lock try to do everysing to restore with the last version off jailbreak but i can unlock the sim. can you help me! please im from portugal with PC windous vista and im new in this can you help!?
