Jailbreak and unlock iPhone 3.1.3
Today the iPhone 3.1.3 update was released to iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, and iPod Touch usres. This update includes mainly bug fixes. If you would like to jailbreak or unlock your device, you must read this. If you have an unlocked iPhone 3G or iPhone 3GS do not update to this new firmware, updating to the iPhone 3.1.2 firmware will permanently update your baseband. The newer baseband does not support software unlocking.
The jailbreak has not been released yet, but you if you’ve got too much time on your hands you may be able to jailbreak if you try the following. If this works please share your results in the comments.
How to Jailbreak iPhone 3.1.3
1. Update to iPhone 3.1.3. After updating, find your iPhone 3.1.3 IPSW file or download it using any of the links below. Remember, don’t use Safari to download. Safari can’t download .IPSW files properly, use a different browser!
If you are having trouble downloading the iPhone 3.1.2 firmware through the iTunes Application then you can directly download the appropriate firmware for your device by downloading iPhone userbar and clicking Downloads button and then downloading the appropriate firmware:
- iPhone 3.1.3download (iPhone1,1_3.1.3_7E18_Restore.ipsw, 241 MB)
- iPhone 3G 3.1.3 download (iPhone1,2_3.1.3_7E18_Restore.ipsw, 242 MB)
- iPhone 3GS 3.1.3 download (iPhone2,1_3.1.3_7E18_Restore.ipsw, 306 MB)
2. Download jailbreak from iPhone toolbar (only works on Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer)
3. Follow the jailbreaking guide at the Jailbreak iPhone 3.1 post.
Unlock iPhone 3.1.3
It’s possible to unlock iPhone 3.1.3 but only if your baseband has not been updated to 05.11.07 or the newer baseband, you must create a custom firmware that uses the 04.26.08 baseband. The iPhone 3.1.3 update updates the baseband to a newer one that permanently blocks the software unlock. A guide on how to unlock iPhone 3.1.3 will be up once a jailbreak tool is released.
For now, follow downlolad iPhone toolbar and you’ll receive an alert once it’s released.

Hey guys u have iPhone 3gs now it’s locked.. I can’t even use it as an iPod.. I tried to use custom restore but while I restored the error MSG pop out say “this iPhone cannot be restore error occurred (1604) .. But if I restored it with original firmware it would work but it still unlock.. Also I’ve tried restore with 3.1.2 still can’t work.. Help me out pls :( I just bought it for 1 day.. Befor it was an unlock phone with 3.1.3

how????? i down graded also, but my 05.12.01 will not change. its jail broke but will not accept sim.
mine is the same. it’s jailbroken, but it shows “no service”. But I can’t downgrade due to the newer version of bootloader…. damn!
if its unlocked and jailbroken n ur not using att or O2 turn off the 3g and it should work if ur unlocked and jailbroken

hi guys i have good news i downgraded my iphone 3g from 3.1.3 5.12.07 to 3.1.2 5.12.01 HOW!!! here it comes…..first download iphone 1.2 3.1.2 custom firmware then download iH8sn0w – iREB V3.1.2 For Windows-English and download blackra1n.. after all off this is done put your iphone into dfu mode and run the ih8sn0w after your screen turns into white start itunes and restore your iphone using 3.1.2 custom firmware and then jailbreak using blackra1n and thats it. and it works AWESOM.

just change your .zip extension to .ipsw it would work for you.

Yup same here my iphone was a very expensive paperweights. Not only that I lost wifi when I updated to 3.1.3 software. So jailbreaking was a little of a curve for me. I jailbroke it with redsn0w but still no unlock right now. I was able to download a windows version of cydia that allows you to put apps on it. Its called cyder2 if anyones interested.
I have a brand new in box 3GS (old one broke) Is there any way I can prevent the 3.1.3 update? Not turning it on until I am sure I can use blackrain or I am already updated to the dreaded 3.1.3
