Jailbreak and unlock iPhone 3.1.3

Jailbreak iPhone 3.1.2

Today the iPhone 3.1.3 update was released to iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, and iPod Touch usres. This update includes mainly bug fixes. If you would like to jailbreak or unlock your device, you must read this. If you have an unlocked iPhone 3G or iPhone 3GS do not update to this new firmware, updating to the iPhone 3.1.2 firmware will permanently update your baseband. The newer baseband does not support software unlocking.

The jailbreak has not been released yet, but you if you’ve got too much time on your hands you may be able to jailbreak if you try the following. If this works please share your results in the comments.

How to Jailbreak iPhone 3.1.3Jailbreak and unlock iPhone 3.1

1. Update to iPhone 3.1.3. After updating, find your iPhone 3.1.3 IPSW file or download it using any of the links below. Remember, don’t use Safari to download. Safari can’t download .IPSW files properly, use a different browser!
If you are having trouble downloading the iPhone 3.1.2 firmware through the iTunes Application then you can directly download the appropriate firmware for your device by downloading iPhone userbar and clicking Downloads button and then downloading the appropriate firmware:

  • iPhone 3.1.3download (iPhone1,1_3.1.3_7E18_Restore.ipsw, 241 MB)
  • iPhone 3G 3.1.3 download (iPhone1,2_3.1.3_7E18_Restore.ipsw, 242 MB)
  • iPhone 3GS 3.1.3 download (iPhone2,1_3.1.3_7E18_Restore.ipsw, 306 MB)

2. Download jailbreak from iPhone toolbar (only works on Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer)

3. Follow the jailbreaking guide at the Jailbreak iPhone 3.1 post.

Unlock iPhone 3.1.3

It’s possible to unlock iPhone 3.1.3 but only if your baseband has not been updated to 05.11.07 or the newer baseband, you must create a custom firmware that uses the 04.26.08 baseband. The iPhone 3.1.3 update updates the baseband to a newer one that permanently blocks the software unlock. A guide on how to unlock iPhone 3.1.3 will be up once a jailbreak tool is released.

For now, follow downlolad iPhone toolbar and you’ll receive an alert once it’s released.

Today Geohot released blacksn0w. I’ve created a step-by-step tutorial on how to
install blacksn0w on iPhone OS 3:

I have an iPhone 3Gs FW 3.1.3 baseband 5.12.01 (new boot rom) and I “believe” I unlocked it, but I can’t tell b/c I don’t have a T-Mobile sim card. My phone is jailbroken by Spirit. I turned my 3G off, then went into Cydia and installed the Ultrasn0w unlocker (must add source: ttp://.repo666.ultrasn0w.com). After it rebooted, the phone read “no service”. I didn’t have a T-Mobile card, so I uninstalled it and my service returned. If anyone could try it and let us know, it could help us all.

      • GPV says:

No it probably is not I did the same thing and when I stock my t mobile sim card in it still said “no service”

      • Sergey says:

    • Sergey says:

I did Run Spirit then Fuzzybend from Cydia dont worry about red wornings at the end just go and run Ultrasn0w from Cydia it works!!! I got same old 3.1.3 and 05.12.01

some websites started throwing out links on google about the unlock being avalible right now but it casts about 30 dollars to do. i dont know if it’s fake or not but they literally started doing that after midnight. if someone can confirm.

    Hi,
Thought I’d let everyone know : Same sad story. Phone, for no reason, froze on stupid apple logo. Only way to solve was through DFU mode. This upgraded my 3GS to the new 3.1.3 with new baseband (I think…) I tried everything out there: blackra1n, redsn0w, and sn0wbreeze. As of now, nothing works. Let me know if I am wrong. I am just about giving up on this stupid iPhone. Not too sure it is worth all this trouble anymore.

  5. Yeee says:

So is there still no jailbreak unlock for the 3Gs with baseband of 05.12.01?

I havent heard anything in quite some time and a while ago I was told it would be out by now
