Nexus One Verizon Wireless phone coming soon
Nexus One, Phones | Hans | January 5, 2010 at 12:48 pm
Google has just updated their page on http://www.google.com/phone. They have revealed that the Nexus One is coming to Verizon Wireless in Spring 2010. As a Droid owner I can say that I’m really happy with these news. The Nexus One is a great phone, and I’ll definitely be switching to it once it’s available on Verizon Wireless.
Android users: Are you going to be getting the Nexus One? I think it’s the best Android phone out there right now. I’d prefer that over the Droid because the Droid has an extra physical keyboard which I rarely use and because this phone is thinner.

I am very interested in the Nexus One and I am super excited that it will be available to Verizon. I have a question though: Will there be a plan like T-Mobile has (179.99 for the phone plus plan) or will it be how it is for AT&T customers (buy phone independently)?
you are dumb burritos
well i watched a video on youtube its a channel called seven tech well he said that verizon was comming out with a unlimited data plan nationwide with text for about $90 bucks that also in addition to the $30 dollars you will have to pay for unlimited web and e-mail but you should it out ill give you a link if you want to know more.
I do believe Verizon will require a smartphone package of $29.99 added on to what ever price plan you already have.
I’m really excited about this phone as well! I have verizon and I’m wondering how much they are going to charge for this phone with and/or without a new contract plan. I will still have a year before my contract is up by the time this phone comes out and I’m having a feeling it’s going to be really hard for me to wait that long to get it after it has come out. I guess I could start saving up now lol
Hi well since this is coming out i guess us the eris users are screwed and deff no hopes of gettin the 2.1 update then….. just the 2.0 but its nice but brandon… im a verizon sales rep and if you are the primary line in your account and you are singed up online on myverizon you are able to get a benefit that every primary line getso n verizon and thats called annual upgrade so just hang on if you really want this sing up on myverizon.com and wait for it…. ;)
The 2.1 update is now out for the Eris unofficially available.
I’ll be getting a Nexus One, no two ways about it. I want it with VZW, but I wonder if an unlocked Nexus One will be compatible with GSM and CDMA networks when they release a CDMA version? That would be optimal, but I don’t know how feasible it is.
ummm yeah this is a good observation but if verizon releases it it will be nice if they make it the first worlwide android… meaning cdma and gsm for worlwide purposes……
I really want a Nexus One, but if the rumors about it not being sold through Verizon (but only through Google) are true I may pass. It’s $500+ if bought unlocked through Google right now. But paying that much for the phone plus $100 or so per month for the service is too much.
I currently have a BB Storm 2, and have owned several BB’s, including the Pearl, Curve, and World phone. I went with the 9550 instead of the Droid because I believed that RIM was going to overhaul their OS and stay true to their word. But now after seeing the Nexus One I will say good bye to BB and make the switch. I have already put $550 aside and will buy the unlocked version when it comes available for Verizon…..
Whats the advantage of the unlocked version?
I’m so excited! I have an upgrade in march so hopefully it wont be bank breaking!
I have been waiting for a great smartphone from VZW for a long time. Due to upgrade in April so the timing for the N1 is perfect…can’t wait.
Has anyone heard anything remotely reliable about a release date?
March 23 is what im hearing. i hope thats true. but this guy down here says march 17 and i like that even better!
I just spoke to a customer service rep at our local Verizon Wireless corporate store and she said that they’ve been told the Nexus One will be available through them on May 17th!
Hello Josh,
Thanks for your email. I understand you have questions regarding the
physical availability of the phone and it’s release date for Verizon.
Currently, we do not have any updates on whether the phone will be
available for display at T-Mobile stores.
As you already know, the currently available Nexus One is a GSM device and
is not compatible with CDMA networks such as Verizon and Sprint. We are
working hard to provide Nexus One phones optimized for the Verizon network
- please stay tuned.

This is what i got when i emailed the google team, just thought i might share it.
Any idea when in spring? Early, middle, late? I was just getting ready to get the Eris but I’m thinking I should wait.
well i was ready to buy a droid and a guy at work said i should compare it to the N1, I already have VZW. I guess i may have to hold off a bit. I really hope I dont have to wait until may
I recently switched from the bb storm to the droid cuz I couldn’t wait for the nexus one and I couldn’t be happier with this phone. It is truly amazing. Incase anyone was thinking about getting a droid cuz they couldn’t wait. You will like the droid :)
Is May still the best estimate?
That would be cool. I am with VZW and want the Nexus one but I just wish that HTC incorporates HTC Sense into the nexus so it will spice it up a abit.
