New iPhone 4G coming to Verizon Wireless in 2010?
According to Digitimes, OmniVision, the supplier of the 3.2 megapixel camera for the current iPhone 3G/iPhone 3GS has secured 5-megapixel camera orders for the iPhone 4G . The iPhone 4th generation will launch in the second half of 2010. It will also contain a CDMA chip that allows it to be used on the Verizon Wireless network, if the rumors are true.
Apple launches new iPhones during the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). This year the WWDC conference is expected to be held during June, so that’s when we will find out whether or not there really is an iPhone 4G coming to Verizon. I’m hoping there will be one because I know a lot of people that would buy the iPhone if it came to Verizon.

verizon beats at&t, but sprint beats them all. sprint has 4g coverage in a lot of cities already.

Sprints 4g is just a name if you look into the network connection speed is not faster than the current 3g its just another name for the same thing.

Sprint sucks compared to Verizon and ATT’s service. unless your in a city with sprint. Forget sprints 4g coverage if calling sucks on sprints network then well 4g will also. ive had sprint verizon and ATT and i can tell you that att and verizon are pretty much equal as far as call coverage i have friende currently with verizon and in some spots i dont get service and they do and in others i get service and they dont its a trade off
okay.. i had sprint for a long time.. i live in a small town in North Carolina & im gonna tell you sprint really sucks here!! most of these people who say all these phone companies are great have no idea until they get in the country!! lol

All that say Apple won’t allow this to happen needs to read a few more sites. The contract is up in June, the only reason Apple hasn’t come out and said it is because it would be a breach of their contract. Verizon has the dominate Wireless coverage because of the way they have spent thier funds over the year. They have devoted more than 80% of thier funds to wireless while AT&T is focusing on the Versa market. It’s why the coverage for Versa is expanding everywhere, but FIOS is taking forever.
Verizon will have the iPhone in the next 6 months. If you want it just wait
the only thing keeping at&t alive is the iphone and they know that. I believe that verizon will eventually get the iphone and when that happens I wouldn’t be surprised if they buy out at&t (as they did alltel) or at&t just goes under completely.
I’ve been with Verizon since they merged and it has really good coverage I tried AT&T and I switched back I had no coverage and I keep losing connection and dropped calls. So if anything I think apple will be making a good decision if they let Verizon Wireless have the iPhone.
Ok heres what you need to do. Get the iphone with ATT then walk around the corner and get the VZW MiFi. BOOM Best of both worlds. You get the map and the apps!!! But i will be picking up my iPhone later this year with VZW, this is a guarantee. :)

Ok here’s the deal Apple will never go to verizon because they are not giving up itunes and the app store for verizon vcast and verizon don’t want to give up vcast, they want to keep control of everything you buy on verizon, and they can’t come to no agreement.

‘emm sprint has an agreement with verizon sir.. so if you can sound a bit educated your self.. they have the same coverage as verizon.. plus for three phones unlimited talking texting and data with insurance on ‘em (two bb curves and a htc) we only pay about 180..
there are places i dn’t get service (but i’m like really in the middle of fing no where) but sprint has free raoming as well.
please at&t has sucked for years i actually can get a signal where i am with verizon and if they get the iphone at&t will be hurting

People saying verizon doesn’t want to give up vcast for the app store/iTunes. They don’t have to give it up for every phone. None actually. Take the droid for instance, it has it’s own app store, completely seperately from vcast or get it now. Verizon wouldn’t own rights to that, apple would.
I just wish Apple would go ahead and say the IPHONE is coming to Verizon or not. I’m so close to switching to AT&T so I can have the IPHONE, but I really don’t want to. I’ve been with Verizon for so long and I really really like the service, I don’t want to switch I just want the IPHONE and I will try to wait until June.
I am with you on this one. I have had Verizon for 4 years now. Before that I had At&t for 5 years (started on cingular) which my family still continues to use. They have worse coverage with at&t then I do with Verizon. Also, my friends with at&t (including the iphone) always have crappier coverage than my Verizon phones including when I had to go back to my old razr3. As far as data goes, Verizon has had data phones for the longest time i.e. the blackberries which were in existence long before the iphone was ever dreamed of.
For those of you praising AT&T , Verizon was the original chosen carrier for the iPhone and that says alot, and now Apple realize that they are losing a whole lot of Revenue by continuing an exclusive contract with AT&T, Verizon has over 6 million more wireless customers than AT&T hands down, Apple knows it could make a real killing with Verizon Wirless and possibly Sprint, so many rumors of drop calls on AT&T network, also what about all those cheesy commercials that AT&T has on TV using this Actor to talk non sense, at least Verizon TV commercial ads are highly professional

the only people who know what is really going on are the good folks down at apple and Verizon. If the iphone were to be provided by Verizon it wont be as simple as it seems. First there will most likely be 2 iphones. the at&t iphone and the Verizon iphone. apple wouldn’t switch to Verizon and be exclusively available to them. there are approx. 21mil iphones out in the world (of course not all of them being used) and apple wouldn’t cut those at&t customers off from receiving new iphones every year. the at&t iphone plan/deal would be the same but the Verizon iphone could receive some major and minor cut backs like:
-possible vcast, im not saying it will happen but vcast is a huge source of verizons income and they will try to push it on apple
-a lower quality plastic iphone. the iphone plan on Verizon will likely cost more than at&t so to make it more affordable apple could switch to lower grade materials
i would also like to add that these rumors have been going on since ’08 so i wouldn’t get your hopes up. apple also made a statement a while back saying that they wouldn’t provide the iphone on verizon until they upgraded to a 4g network and their estimates say that in 2012 it will only be 66% set up. as u all probably know that apple and droid have a rivalry and they wouldn’t work on the same network. last fall verizon also mocked the iphone on the droid commercials. i don’t know how apple feels about this but id be pretty pissed off. and might i add that no one really knows when the apple-at&t contract expires so……. yea again don’t get your hopes up. and the ipad recently came out and the ipad with 3g is on its way and guess what, its for at&t. if apple were to switch to verizon they wouldnt come out with a new device that uses at&t right before they made the big switch. if youve done ur research on the lost prototype iphone then you should know that it uses at&t. so i dont know, based on past experiences with the whole “iphone coming to verizon ” thing id say the chances are slim to none. but i could be wrong. sorry to everyone who wants the iphone to come to verizon but i just think it should stay where it is. switching would cause too much problems.
Steve- you are the only one thinking about this with a clear mind. I understand that people on verizon want the iphone and are excited about the rumors of it actually being available with Verizon-but thats exactly what they are- rumors. There has been no communication from Apple stating that they are making a CDMA version of the phone. Apple has for a long time-been very exclusive with who sells their products- mainly their own retail stores. Apple just last year started selling their computers at Best Buy- Apple is in no way having any trouble making a huge profit conducting business as is. AT&T just sent out a statement to their employees that they are investing a few billion dollars to upgrade their wireless network. In all honesty- do you really think AT&T would put THAT much money into upgrades if they would be loosing their contract with Apple? It doesn’t make sense. If they knew that the iphone would be moving to Verizon, they would know that they would be loosing quite a bit of customers-which would free up bandwidth and signal for customer who stay. There would not be a need for such a huge undertaking. And with Verizon’s commercials for the droid- it has been one constant attack against Apple after another which I understand that they are a competitor but do you think Apple would really put much effort into bringing their phone to a company who already has a product that in such competition with the iphone? If Verizon did get the iphone one of two things would happen- either the droids would would get killed off (because the only reason the droid is doing well is because Verizon doesn’t have the iphone) or two iphone sales will not be as high as expected and thus not be the ideal business move because the the main competitor device is being sold right next to it, in the same store, on the same network. AT&T doesn’t offer a phone that is comparable to the iphone which gives the iphone a better advantage than it would with Verizon. But who knows-Since day one- there have been rumors of the iphone going to Verizon-and it hasn’t happened yet, so I guess I will believe it when I see it.

I know that there are people out there who have had troubles, but the ratio of someone having problems with Apple vs. any other computer company is in no comparison!

I actually don’t think the name of the phone is going to be iPhone 4G. The 3G and 3GS was just based on the name of the network connection. But if there would be a new network called 4G it would fit right on. We will soon find out what the new name will be…
