Jailbreak iPod touch 3.1.2
It’s Christmas, and I’m sure a lot of people got an Apple iPod touch as a gift. If you own an iPod touch, you may want to consider jailbreaking it. Why should you jailbreak? Check our jailbreak post for more info. Jailbreaking your iPod touch is pretty easy with blackra1n. Just follow the steps below!
Jailbreak iPod touch 3.1.2 tutorial
1. Download the free iPhone OS 3 toolbar (on Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari) and install it.
2. Click the Downloads button and click on the Download blackra1n RC3 link to download it.
3. Connect your iPod touch to your computer and open the blackra1n application.
4. Click the make it ra1n button.
5. blackra1n will now put your iPod Touch in recovery mode and display the above image of Geohot. While in recovery mode, blackra1n will jailbreak your iPod touch.
6. Once blackra1n is done jailbreaking, your iPod Touch will reboot and you should see the blackra1n icon on your iPod touch screen.
7. Tap the blackra1n icon to open it. You have the option of installing either Cydia, Icy, or Rock. Select the applications you would like to install and then click the Install button to install them.
8. Once you’ve installed the applications, restart your iPod touch. To do that, just hold down the top button until the Slide to power off message appears. Slide the button, and wait for your device to turn off. Turn on your device and you should now see the applications you selected on your iPod Touch.
What now?
Congratulations, you have successfully jailbroken your iPod Touch, give yourself a pat on the back! Now you have access to a lot more applications and modifications that you will never see in the App Store. When i turn off my itouch it says reconnect to itunes and when i do that it says u have to restore it! How can i jail break my ipod and turn it off?
What is your firmware?
It has to be 3.1.2 for “blackra1n” to work.

After you’ve jailbroken your iphone and it tells you to connect to itunes, connect your iphone to your pc via usb and run blackra1n again. that will get you to the home screen and you’re good to go. (this is for 3.1.2)
Hey Bud. It’s the tethered version of Blackra1n’s jailbreak. They are supposedly working on the non tethered version where you can turn your ipod off. But for now, restore your ipod and you can just keep blackra1n off, or you can keep it on (just dont turn it off and always charge it). It’s a pain, but that will soon be fixed (hopefully). Hope this helps you and everyone else with this problem:)
It works keep your i touch plugged in this is how you get it to work
1) Follow all steps above
2)When you unistall the app and your itouch restarts “make it rain again”
3) its not gonna be on your itoch after it restarts but its Jailbroken now!!!

I installed a free update for my ipod cus I didnt feel like paying whatever amount for it, then I used blackra1n to jailbreak it. It worked fine and I have blackra1n on my ipod now but there is like internet connection issues. Itll say Im connected to my wifi but wont allow me to use internet which is making it so I cant download cydia.Any help?

Hey umm I have an iPod touch and I want to know if it is possible jailbreak it so I can use it exactly like a PC??
e.g. I want to play a game on it it’s like world of Warcraft but with out all the firmware. I was thinking I might have to change the iPod to fit the game.

well i think your out of luck because to play most types of games, especially games like WoW, you need all those updates, flash players, and everything- things that you cant get on the ipod

my current fw is 3.1.2 i jailbroke it, but after each reboot of the ipod it goes in recovery mode, requires restore from itunes so i need re-run blackrain exe every time the ipod is rebooted to make it work w/o upgrading the ofw… ? any1 have solution , pls share!

i have ipod 2g 3.1.2.. i tried to jailbreak.. it should reboot and the icon should appear.. but it didn’t reboot.. what do i do? btw, my pc has service pack 2 (pirated) lol.. what should i do now?? thank you guys for the help..
Alright, well it worked perfectly fine, and i got a few apps on it, but one of the apps i tryed getting said i need to restart my i-pod. so i did, and then it tells me to connect to itunes like everyone else is saying, so i did. and it fixed it, and deleted the jailbreak. so i think oh. maybe ill do it again, and then i try to do it again, and the face wont pop up on the ipod anymore, it just turns to black screen and it freezes, then i gotta turn it off. how do i fix this problem so i can download it again, and how do i download apps without it making me plug it back into itunes?
