Today the iPhone 3.1.2 update was released to iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, and iPod Touch usres. This update includes mainly bug fixes. If you would like to jailbreak or unlock your device, you must read this. If you have an unlocked iPhone 3G or iPhone 3GS do not update to this new firmware, updating to the iPhone 3.1.2 firmware will permanently update your baseband. The newer baseband does not support software unlocking.
The jailbreak has not been released yet, but you if you’ve got too much time on your hands you may be able to jailbreak if you try the following. If this works please share your results in the comments.
How to Jailbreak iPhone 3.1.2
1. Update to iPhone 3.1.2. After updating, find your iPhone 3.1.2 IPSW file or download it using any of the links below. Remember, don’t use Safari to download. Safari can’t download .IPSW files properly, use a different browser!
- iPhone 3.1.2 download (iPhone1,1_3.1.2_7D11_Restore.ipsw, 241 MB)
- iPhone 3G 3.1.2 download (iPhone1,2_3.1.2_7D11_Restore.ipsw, 242 MB)
- iPhone 3GS 3.1 download (iPhone2,1_3.1.2_7D11_Restore.ipsw, 306 MB)
2. Download redsn0w.
3. Follow the jailbreaking guide at the Jailbreak iPhone 3.1 post.
Unlock iPhone 3.1.2
It’s possible to unlock iPhone 3.1.2 but only if your baseband has not been updated to 05.11.07 or the newer baseband, you must create a custom firmware that uses the 04.26.08 baseband. The iPhone 3.1.2 update updates the baseband to a newer one that permanently blocks the software unlock. A guide on how to unlock iPhone 3.1.2 will be up once a jailbreak tool is released.

I did five times, but still nothing. actually its a jailbreaked 2g iphone 2.2.1 then I tried to update using original apple itunes to 3.2.1.

i have jailbreak my iPhone 3GS 3.1.2
but when never i reboot/restart the phone
i ask to plug it on iTunes.
then when i do i see the same image as if i was
jailbreaking it again and then the phone goes on normal mode.
so what can i do to fix this?
Exactly same problem! Phone jailbroke, thought it was all fine, installed apps, all fine, then the phone ran out of battery after being on for 2 weeks, when I charged it and turned it back on it wouldnt boot, I worked backwards removing apps, only when I uninstalled the jailbreak did my phone stop booting to the restore page… Really annoying, if I can keep my phone on it’s fine, but when it dies I cant turn it back on until I get back to my PC.

If u want to jailbreak your:
-Iphone 3G 3.1.2 use this program:(Blackra1n)
-Ipod Touch 3.1.2 use this program:(Blackra1n)
-Iphone 3GS 3.1.2 use this program:(purplera1n)
Very easy…
Tutorial:
1-Download any of them correctly
2-You don’t need to install nothing (only if the format is….exe…)
3-Open the program
4-Click on “Make it ra1n”
5-That’s all…
5-Wait for reboot on iphone or ipod touch
6-On your device will be the program
7-Open it and download “Cydia”
*-Jailbreak done!-*
i tried that so many time..but it’s not working at all for baseband 05.11.07..maybe u have any idea to unlock it..i cannot use my i phone to make call..

If you update for 3.1.2 you have to jailbreak again…

Okay so i updated my unlocked iphone 3g to 3.1.2 with itunes. a big mistake i thought when i read through some fourms and found that it updated the baseband and made the software unlockable. but with some modifications to the program “ziphone” i was able to downgrade my baseband. keep my 3.1.2 and re unlock my phone, you will need to be fimilar with the iphone software but with a little bit of time you can downgrade your basebane and not worying that you tmobile users cant use my expensive phone anymore. email me if anyone needs help. jrussellskate@gmail.com
