DroidDoes website counter gets updated
Droid | Doug | October 20, 2009 at 8:29 pm
Earlier this week, the DroidDoes.com website had a countdown timer to October 30, 2009. I was thinking that this was the Verizon D roid release date, but Verizon is advertising November as the release date for the Droid. I just checked the XML file again today and the date on the timer has been updated to October 28, 2009. You can see this for yourself at this link. Verizon is probably going to announce the phone on Wednesdy, October 28 and then release it in November.
If you haven’t already, you can go to the Droid Does page to watch the Verizon commercial. Features of the Verizon Motorola Droid include:
- Android 2.0 OS
- Multitasking
- Widgets
- 5 megapixel camera
- QWERTY keyboard
One more thing, the Droid will support flash.

Too bad the iPhone doesn’t have flash…
The iphone doesn’t have many things flash, led status light, and much much more.
Come to think of it the iphone doesn’t really allow much customizations without jail breaking and possibly bricking your phone.
I have to admit im getting a bit bored of the touch screen and would rather have a slider keyboard.
I’ll take ur iphone. go get a driod.
BTW how do u SSH into the driod??? Can u turn it into a unix computer, is there a terminal??? can u sniff networks??? remote into ur PC???. turn it into a WiFi hotspot???
iPhone is a very powerfull device. the problem is: some don’t know how to use it…
you need to get all your info straight before going off and looking ignorant. Android does what iphone does plus. Android is linux based and yes it has a terminal. yes you can sniff networks. yes you can remote to PC. Yes you can tether with android. Now is there any other questions you want to ask about the android system?? i know your a iphone fanboy and I know it sucks for you, that theres a OS out there in its early stages that is going to compete finally with the old fashioned iphone. Android is going to be a problem for Crapple’s iDont, the numbers are early and its already showing.
android may allow tethering but the apps market aka Google banned all tethering apps from the market saying that it violates contract agreements we made with our phone carriers. so you are half right, can the droid tether, yes, is it going to without paying a premium for tethering, no. not without a similiar jailbreak the iphone has.
Your so right. i bet metalgeek feels rlly dumb.
I’m really nont worried about the droid because apple will make adjustments to the iPhone via firmware or via a new model. So when it comes down to these two phones they will be competitive and make their phones better.
I agree with metalgeek that the iPhone is a very powerfully device but people don’t really know how to use it to its full potential.
@SiRMez, you might think that the Android 2.0 might be better than the iphone but the truth of the matter is I personally have the 1 gen iphone and have updated it over and over and yes jailbreaking helps in ways that apple really doesn’t but that is an option just like any other phone or OS can have. I have never had a problem with my 1gen iphone and it is customized to the fullest just the way I WANT IT!!! As just like everything in life, people always copy from the original, they try to “update” it and make it better but the original is always the best…
My question to you is, how is the iDevice the originator of Android? What was copied from the iDevice that’s in Android? Is it the widgets, is it the real keyboard, is it that Android can run simultaneous apps, or is it the open source? How can you be happy with just customized icons? I’m happy you have the 1st gen idont but your missing out on 3g speeds. You will see the light soon. Apple is keeping android away from at&t, please wonder why?
my iClone is better…lol
