Droid does support Adobe Flash
One important feature that Verizon forgot to include in their Droid Does commercial is that the Droid phone does support Flash while the iPhone doesn’t! Earlier this year, Adobe announced that they will be releasing a mobile version of their Flash Player for Android, Windows Mobile, and the Palm webOS. The iPhone OS was not included in this list.
The Droid will be running Android 2.0 operating system. Flashplayer is expected to be released for the Android OS and other mobile operating systems some time in early 2010. With multi-tasking, Flash, and the most popular carrier, the Droid does stand a pretty good chance at competing with the iPhone. Will it be an iPhone killer? We’ll find out soon enough! The launch date is expected to be some time in early November.

Droid does burn the iphone
I own a droid, yes it has shortcomings, but every phone has shortcomings and the droid happens to have far less than other phones do in my opinion. I tried an iPhone for a while, didn’t like it so I went back to a blackberry, and then got a Droid just recently. I like the Droid better than the blackberry and much better than I liked the iPhone, and Verizon is a much better carrier than AT&T.
I know I’m bumping this old comment…but your right it is way better. And if only the other DROID users knew what their phone can really do once it is ROOTED. I so love this phone now!
For what my opinion is worth, I kind of expected my new Droid to be Flash capable. I’m starting to find Flash is necesseray for normal browsing. You don’t realise it until you don’t have it. It’s not that I expected my Droid to have Flash specifically, but I expected it to be fully capable of browsing the interwebs, which it wasn’t. Because it didn’t support the Flash.

Flash and a antivirus program would have been nice to stand up to the various applications on Face Book.
Touch screens are hard to correct your typing errors. The cut copy and paste is unnerving as well. I miss my Blackberry. It is much more convient than Droid. The keyboard being a slider is wider and there is no spell checker, rrrrr. It makes what you send out look like a child typed it. I LOVE it for the web surfing capabilities but, I want a Blackberry Bold. Touch screen is just pretty.

Really a anti-virus? Just what we need another Microsoft pushed app. The DROID is a Linux based system ;)

Droid does: multitouch, flash
For a 14 year old who only really needs facebook and youtube, this phone rocks. All of the extra stuff it can do jes makes it all better. LOVE MY DROID!!!!!!!!!

Whoever said Droid was multitouch was on crack. Some HTC’s are multi, but the Moto Droid is definately not.
No vaporware update will cure that.
And we’re STILL without Flash.
Droid definitely DOES support multitouch. Just download Dolphin browser…multitouch pinch and zoom out…just like the iPhone…
The only thing really grinds my gears about the droid, because it is the best phone produced, is that the screen doesn’t rotate horizontally unless you slide the keyboard down. Hope they fix this…anyone found an app that fixes this?
What? I’m reading your comment on my Droid right now with the screen tilted horizontally, without the keyboard out. It detects being tilted… Some apps and games depend on it.
Maybe you misunderstood that it automatically rotates the screen if you slide the keyboard out, (because why would you use the keyboard with the screen sideways?) but it also rotates automatically from tilting it sideways.
Maybe you clicked the option that says Auto tilt???
You’re right, I forgot about the Orientation option in Sound & Display settings, but my point is that the phone is not incapable of it.

I’m using mu dads droid right now. And there’s something that I need to know. Why is it that on some pics the pic doesn’t show but instead there’s some blue square like thing in the center?
blue lego-looking square means you need flash player to view that item. That’s the big thing i’m waiting for so i can use netflix / hulu. :D
