PS3 Dynamic Themes available on PS3 3.0
Other | Doug | September 1, 2009 at 2:24 pmIn the new PS3 3.0 update, Sony has added PS3 Dynamic Themes in the PSN store. Currently there is only one dynamic theme available in the US 
Playstation Store. The LittleBigPlanet PS3 Dynamic theme costs $2.99 and can be downloaded from the Playstation Store.
Users in Japan can download the Afrika PS3 Dynamic theme for free from the Playstation Store.
I like the new PS3 Dynamic themes feature, but I don’t think I want to pay $2.99 just to customize my theme. I’m sure there will be free themes added in the future as well, so I’ll hold off on purchasing the LittleBigPlanet theme that’s currently in the Playstation Store. PS3 users: Do you think it’s worth paying for Dynamic Themes, or will you wait for developers to release free themes on the Playstation Store?

I totally agree. Never, ever, i would pay for a theme. Dynamic, ultra-dynamic or anything. It’s just a theme. Only got to see it when i start the ps3, never hang out much in the xmb, there are better games to play.

We won’t be so heavily penalised, price-wise, for dynamic themes in the UK so I’ll definitely pick up some premium dynamic themes. They’re a pittance to afford and there’s very little else to pay out for on the store, most weeks, so I don’t see what anyone has to complain about.

Why is everyone crying over $2.99?? Really? You know how much it cost to make a theme like that? 3d & fully animated? You can bet that thing cost at least $7-$10,000 at least in development time.
You get what you pay for. Free themes are usually created by those with little to no design sense and few are worth having. Not that paying means it will all be worth owning, but there is a lot more time and effort behind these type of themes and $2.99 is cheap even in this economy. I was thinking it would be $5.99 or higher and I would pay if the theme was something I cared to have.
Now, go ask your mommies for a higher allowance you cheap bastards.

Really. People need to stop complaining. 360 themes cost 250 Microsoft points and have for awhile; which averages out to 3 US dollars
I agree with you entirely (sorry to grave dig this topic). Xbox 360 themes cost 250 Microsoft points; which averages out to $3 (US). People are just used to PS3 themes being free and are complaining over it. Grow up people.

Everybodys moaning about paying for themes ( they should be free anyways) but I see people buying clothes in playstation home for £2/£3! Why do you wanna pay for something so that your character can wear designer. WTF is this going to?
Honestly you guys need to stop acting like children, its $2.99 for a theme, i mean if your going to complain that much about the cost. Just forget about it and don’t buy one, instead of coming on here and complaining. I mean whats that going to do besides being a waste of space on this site.

no way would it cost 7k+ to make a moving theme are u out of your mind it takes a guy bout 20 mins in front of a comp and presses the loop button if i knew how t do the themes i would do it for hours and post online for free not a problem
all cheap skates … really £1.59 for a theme … but we buy games for like £40 … cough up some coins
