MMS for iPhone 3G: Picture messaging, and video messaging not working!
iPhone | Hans | September 25, 2009 at 5:13 pm
I installed the recent MMS update on my iPhone 3G some hours ago and it worked fine! I just tried it right now, and it looks like MMS/picture messaging does not work. Whenever I try to send an MMS message, I get the following error: “Your message was not sent. Tap Try Again to send this message.“. A red exclamation mark appears next to my message and photo that I’m trying to send.
I did a search on Twitter, and it appears that I’m not the only one who has this problem! Other people are having it too. If you are getting an error message, please let us know in the comments. I’m not surprised that AT&T is having these problems today, hopefully they get it fixed soon.

you have to update to 3.1 not 3.0.1 (3.1) after that it will give you a carrier update, update that after that reboot your phone!!!! by holding the power botton and slide to power off!. after that go into setting and and then messaging and you will see MMS turn that on and now you can send a receive MMS. i know it works because it works on my teachers iphone and i did it all for him and i also tested it with my iphone and his iphone
I really don’t think you should update to 3.1… it works FINE using 3.0 or 3.0.1… I haven’t tried any other versions yet, but if you want to customize your phone to your liking…. don’t upgrade to 3.1 until there is a way to jb it….
Just search the web for ways for putting in the right settings to get mms…
The reason why it doesnt send is because The phone which is receiving The Image hasnt been updated you must update your iPhone as well s The person receiving The Image.
how are you so sure of that
I’m on a Jailbroken 3G with 3.0 OS and my MMS is working fine. Tested before posting just to he sure.
Say vatos mines wrkn like a charm ( 3.0/3g). But how abouts a hack to send video via cycorder, what ya’ll think of that.
for those at&t subscribers who has gotten the red exclamation point error. you will have to call at&t and tell them to take out the msg plan you have and replace it with iphone msg plan(same price). good luck.
Idk im in west bubblefok pennsylvania im on 3.0.1. 3g(s) aNd is working fine for me too.
what’s up with the dev team taking forever on the 3.1 jailbreak??
look At&t u stalled us 4 three months and look can’t u do a btr jobs and u guys blaming apple . Apple had nothing to do with this it is AT&T server that won’t take the messege what u g0t 2 do is call AT&T tell em that u want pic messeging on an iPhone 3g or 3gs then let them do da rest
Mine did not work at the beginning. Called at&t and they said that They had not registered my iPhone 3G in the computer. They still had the 2g. And they Also said I had the wrong plan. They fixed it and voila! It worked.
When is the 3.1 jailbreak comin out for the 3GS under redsn0w????

hey everyone u can update to 3.1 and jailbreak now dev team made the date available for ever device except itouch 3gen
Where does it say that iCizzlei
O yes. The jailbreak is released for 3gs but only thru mac. So those windows waiting on redsn0w like me have to keep waiting.
I can get you a jailbroken ipsw if you can get your phone into DFU mode.
Hi all,
I have a 3G, jailbroke but noy unlocked.
What do I need to do to have MMS and not loose the jailbroke feature?
Thanks
You seem to have the same thing I do. If you have 3.1, and you updated carrier settings, give reset network settings (in Settings) a try.
There is a post on this site that tells you how to just do the carrier update .
HEY GUYS!
NO NEED TO CONTACT AT&T, JUST FOLLOW STEPS BELOW:
AFTER INSTALLING MMS ON THE PHONE
JUST GO TO SETTINGS AND RESET YOUR NETWORK BACK TO FACTORY SETTINGS!
AND YOU ARE GOOD TO GO!
Didn’t work
I have a jailbroken 3G, running 3.1. All I did was reset network settings after updating carrier settings and voila! It all works now.
Give it a try, it might work for you too.
I was getting red ! everytime I tried to send mms. After trying multiple ipcc files, 5.0 seems to work for me.
- Applied 5.0 carried update, rebooted.
- Reset network settings, rebooted
- Set mms apn settings to the following, then rebooted
– APN: wap.cingular
mmsc: http://mmsc.cingular.com
mms proxy: 066.209.011.032
mms max msg size: 614400
- Working MMS now
Same Here This Is BullSh*t I Wanna Send Some Mms Oh I Cant Cuz At&t Are Dumb*sses
