MMS for iPhone 3G: Picture messaging, and video messaging not working!
I installed the recent MMS update on my iPhone 3G some hours ago and it worked fine! I just tried it right now, and it looks like MMS/picture messaging does not work. Whenever I try to send an MMS message, I get the following error: “Your message was not sent. Tap Try Again to send this message.“. A red exclamation mark appears next to my message and photo that I’m trying to send.
I did a search on Twitter, and it appears that I’m not the only one who has this problem! Other people are having it too. If you are getting an error message, please let us know in the comments. I’m not surprised that AT&T is having these problems today, hopefully they get it fixed soon.

I updated my phone, it restored it self twice and had errors loading it. It then said the update was complete and the picture messaging isn’t anywhere to be found !! The ringtone purchasing oN iTunes is there ?!? WTF!
did you look for the camera icon next to the message box after u open SMS? that where mine is and its workin for me. the way i tested mine was to send myself a pic.
IF YU HAD DA 1ST IPHONE YU HAV 2 CALL AT&T BECAUSE YUR 2G PLAN IS DIFFERENT DAT DA 3G, SO DA ONLY WAY 2 ENABLE IT IS CALLIN ATT&T. I DID IT LAST NITE N IT WORKS FLAWLESSLY!
i just did the update, and have successfully sent pics, but i can not receive them. odd how one part of it works and the other doesn’t, i tried to update it again, but the computer says that the phone is installed with 3.1 i’ll have to wait and see
I did the update and can send away but can not recive any pic back can anyone help

I think that u guys got too exited and started mmsing as soon as it was released, and caused traffic and maybe crashed (just like earthquake texting) and your message won’t send. Just my thought, wait and see what AT&T says. At least they work hard to bring us this unnecessary item.
i upgraded my software, and the settings and restarted my phone and the mms is nowhere to be found. what a disappointment.
Mms works fine for me if I’m not connected to wifi. If I’m connected my iPhone 3g on 3.0 FW jailbroke will not send or receive mms messages. Any suggestions?? HELP PLEASE!!!
That is apple for ya.Now they will make a new firmware so they can stop jailbreakers.They will say they couldn’t handle the traffic with the firmware so they will make one with in a month so they can winnie out the jailbreakers.Watch and see.I know how they are.
Worked fine for me, let it update then restarted the phone and has been functioning flawlessly

I think it depends on detain people becuz my father recieved the AT&T message yesterday and now has mms but I still haven’t gotten the message so I guess I have to wait till I get the message but if I don’t have mms by Monday I’m going to go to my local AT&T and bitch some people out lol

Ok.. I had the same issue yesterday with the MMS. I connected to iTunes got the update, installed it, then restarted my phone.. I tried to send and MMS and still with the red exclamation.. I called att and they told me to go to settings/general/reset/reset network settings…. “thats usually the issue”.. when I tried it worked….
also if the issue still happens you have to call att with another phone.. and they have to adjust a setting on your phone manually and then they’ll tell you to restart your phone, itll work just fine too…
Here’s how I got MMS to send on my iPhone 3G.
1. Connect iPhone to computer and go through the software update via iTunes.
2. Disconnect iPhone from computer
3. Shutdown iPhone by holding down the power button until I got the “Power Off” slide.
4. After iPhone was shutdown, restarted it by holding power button down again briefly.
You can check if MMS is working by going into your photo library on the iPhone and clicking on the send icon in the bottom right. There should be an option now for MMS. Also, in the Messages area you should now see a small camera icon to the left of the message field.

I just did the update for MMS on my 3g iPhone… Can I now jailbreak it and it will still send MMS????

You have to restart your phone… I had the same problem with my phone (3G), and my sisters 3GS, i thought it wasnt working either but i forgot to try and just reboot the phone, try that. Hope it helps.
Works great on 3g 3.0 jb on egde. But u can not send on wifi. Had to turn that off.
So, this all means I can send MMS with my jailbroken iphone 3G os 3.0, without having to do the whole update to 3.1 hence unjailbreaking my iphone?
